@Tnadnepkrad, which courses were you accepted into? Did you get offers from any US universities?

Hkust science
Ntu math science with minor in finance.

No i didn’t apply to US. But I’m thinking of taking masters there

“Singapore over Hong Kong any day, any time” - Words of quite a few potential employers(CEOs of MNCs). Singapore is lot more diverse and you’ll have more potential global opportunities in Singapore than in HK.

I totally agree with thunderboltsid. Not beacause i am a singaporean but as person who have visited hk every holidays and from what i have heard from my relatives in hk, i feel singapore is safer, more international and respectful towards foreigners. NTU is also very recognized university in sg and has positive prospects in future. Good luck with your decision!

Hi mingmingforwin!
any news??

@thunderboltsid @mingmingforwin I’m more into singapore too… And another reason for me to choose ntu is because of the scholarship I get… But it’s 6 year bond

Hey I have a doubt regarding the whole bond thing- do you have to work immediately after graduating or can you take up higher studies before fulfilling the bond?

Work immediately…

@tnadnepkrad you mean you have to work immediately for 6 years? Well it can be a good opportunity if you plan to continue living in singapore but if not, it can be quite stressful. Hmm can you accept an offer w/o any bond?

I can pay full tuition with no bond, subsidised fee with 3 years bond, or scholarship with 6 years bond. Actually I’m fine with living in singapore :)

I received an offer from HKUST BBA on the 18th with a predicted IB grade of 35

hello gcdwrmfw!
congrats!..please share your stats here…it will be really appreciated…thanks!

@Tnadnapkrad then i would say pay full tuition with no bond! I mean you dont know what you want to do after 4 years of uni. Scholarships are great but i think after 4 years of uni, i dont know if you would still wana live in sg. You might want to go to other countries to study or get a job in different country. So putting urself under bond can be risky as it would limit your opportunities in future! Most of my foreign friends from korea, indonesia and india feels bored of living in sg after about 4-6 years of studying here. I think since singapore is such a small country, it can be quite limited sometimes cotrast to lets say, US where u can travel the whole country during weekends or holidays. Sg is then very limited and quite restrained in that terms tho it is a great place to live jn! Well i am not sure what kind of person u are so cannot say for sure! But thats what i genereally see from my international friends! They decided to study abroad after completing years of studies here. But for the moment they were here, they really enjoyed it and some misses it! Its just that it can be quite boring sometimes. Well hope this helps you make a decision!

@gcdwrmfw HEY CONGRATZ! And please do share ur stats! Like SAT I,SAT II, AP, TOEFL, IELTS scores if you have any! And when did u exactly apply? Did you also have an interview?

Sorry guys I cannot reply to private messages
I’m a HKID holder studying in Canada. My current IB predicted grade is 35 and I got IELTS overal band score of 8.0
I applied on the last day for main round admissions and I was told to do the 4 min video interview which I thought was pretty stupid and useless

@Gcdwrmfw oh i see! Does that mean u didnt apply as international applicant but as non-jupas? Thank you for posting on the thread! I and some other people are dying to know the results! Phewww

@mingmingforwin hmm… That’s true, but I can break the bond and pay parts of the fee, for example if I have worked for 3 years and I want to live somewhere else, I can pay half of the fees.

@tnadnepkrad you are right about breaking the bond too. But from what I know, singapore government would be very unhappy about it. I heard some vietnamese scholar broke the bond and she had to pay some penalty fee. That’s what I heard so i might be wrong to certain extent but anyways i think you should be careful for it. So if you have breaking the bond and leaving sg later in mind, make sure you note all the details on likely costs that might incur! hehe hope this helps! you can send me msgs if you have any more questions :)

@mingmingforwin yup, but i think i’d take the scholarship as I don’t know what will happen in my life haha thx for your help :)
