HKU or HKUST

What’s the average SAT Reasoning test score for CUHK?

guys,which one is harder to be admitted in Hkust?
business or engineering?

@babycinnamon Business, definitely. because it is the top business school in Asia

hi guys,
which one is more competitive to be admitted to HKUST? science or business?

@gigglepop
Thanks for your answer :slight_smile:
So do you know how many international students will they admitted to ust every year? For business and management study?
Last but not least…
Does personal statement hold an important part whether you will be admitted or not?
Thank you

Last question, I will be applying for business&management at ust…
My toefl score is 82, do you think that i need to retake the test? The minimum toefl score needed is 80

@babycinnamon
1.There is no limit quota for international students. You can go to their website to seek some useful information.
2.I don’t think PS plays a crucial role. Generally, HKUST cares more about SAT/IB/ALEVEL/AP.
3.I have sent an email to UST in Sep, and they told me if you can get 80+, there is no need to retake, since TOEFL is only an English ability proof.

@gigglepop
Thank you so much for your reply giggle, I was thinking of retaking toefl test before (since most of the applicants get 100+ for the toefl score) T,T
But your answer is really relaxing my mind for the pressure :smiley:
So have you applied to the university?
I will be finishing my personal statement today and submit it tonight…

@babycinnamon
I have submitted my application on Nov 12th, but haven’t received any interview yet.
I applied to HKUST, HKU, and CUHK.

@gigglepop
What major do you take?
And from what country do you cone from?

@babycinnamon
I applied to engineering and science. I am from mainland China.

I got an interview from HKUST for business, anyone else in the same situation?

To ugatsghk: Did you already have an interview?
I didn’t get it yet HKUST told me to upload some additional documents

@gigglepop
Right now I am studying at China too, taking Chinese language programme :smiley:
Best luck for you :slight_smile:
@ugatsghk
Wow, that is fast :smiley:
So how was the interview?
When did you submit the application?
@lili9696
When did they told you to submit the additional document? Have they contacted you since then?

@ugatsghk
What about the interview? Do you know somebody who applied to the engineering program? I desperately want to get in!

@babycinammon
I submitted my application on 14 of November.
I am giving an online interview.

@lily9696
Even I had to upload some additional documents.

@gigglepop
I am being considered for engineering myself. I don’t know anyone who got in.
Do you know any of your seniors who have gotten in? They gave generally the same offers.
Only business applicants for international get an interview. I am quite sure engineering and science do not get one.

And, question to all of you, is this your first choice university?

@ugatsghk
Yeah, how about you? Is this your first choice too?
I am also applying for business major, I hope that both of us can be enrolled here :D

@ugatsghk
I also applied to business but I didn’t get an interview. When did you get an interview? Are you an international applicant?

@ugatsghk
I definitely will go to HK for undergraduate study, and I don’t care which school I will be in(HKU, UST, CUHK will all be ok). I didn’t apply to any universities in US or UK.

@GIGGLEPOP - I have applied to the engineering program at hkust. I applied in the early round. I haven’t received any e-mail from UST except for one wherein i was requested to furnish some documents. I am hoping to receive an email before the end of this month.
@ugatsghk - HKUST isn’t my first university choice. I am hoping to get into a few Indian colleges as well and then decide which university I’ll go to. When is your interview?
