<p>My guess would be that since they use the same application and just move you on to the next round, in their system deferring you would require changing your application status and then changing it back just for the regular decision round a couple weeks later. It does really suck though.</p>
<p>If it’s any consolation it seems to me that almost nobody got accepted to early round and so having them already look at our applications in advance my help us when comparing up against the other applicants at regular decision time.</p>
<p>Being from the US, I just really wish there was a lot more information about HKUST in terms of admission statistics though. I’m used to acceptance rates and average GPAs being a quick google search away.</p>
<p>I’m not from the US but you’re right, it’s a lot easier to calculate your chances given the admission statistics. Anyways, I have my fingers crossed for the main round, best of luck to you all!</p>
<p>I was looking though some old posts on this thread and apparently last year a few claimed to have gotten emails stating that they have been deferred, and the date was 2nd Jan. Also, I just found out that the student from my school who got accepted last year (but didn’t go) in the early round got his acceptance on 3rd Jan. Maybe we still have a chance, and if not, we will hopefully be notified about our deferral.</p>
<p>What about the average cut off for the CBSE board (commerce stream) for a course in business?
