HKU or HKUST

@aryanj123 I didn’t apply to CUHK … big mistake!
Is HKU delaying me the interview because I submitted my application on the last date of Fast Track submissions?

It doesn’t matter though! I’m going to HKUST B School for sure! Haha … it’s better than HKU’s B School, right?

@kiosk171 hmm it can be the case. They judge the apps on a rolling basis, so the earlier you apply, the better it is. I think.

@afk435 Have you received any from HKUST?

@kiosk171 Nah dude, think for yourself. hku’s been around for a 100 years. There’s a reason why hku is more competetive. Now if you wanna think ust is better because you got into it, that’s your call.

@aryanj123 bro I am talking for the rankings. Even I don’t know which uni is better. Never visited them

@whalsdn1201 Yeah, I’ve heard rumors that they selected the Finance section first! (Humph.) I’ve applied for the same courses! A friend of mine last year (IB) got her application results from HKU in April (some science course, I forget.)

hahah i guess we just have to wait! @sroy17

Did everyone receive the HKU country interview email?
If I can’t attend do I just ignore the email and don’t reply back?

I’ve been waiting all this time for HKU results but I don’t think I applied fast track.
Does anyone know if I can check if I applied fast track or not? I did my interview on 12/14.

Did people receive the HKU Country interview email? It’s due 9th Jan.
What happens if I cannot go to that area?

Anyone received offer from HKUST recently?

I wonder too.

I have been offered BBA HKUST and Bachelor of ECON & FIN in HKU (both fast track)… Basically i want to do ECON/FIN… My dilemma is which uni to choose for good balance of academic and all round personal development? Besides, how is the student demographics in HKUST business school in recent years? TIA

Anyone received early admission offer for Engineering at HKU or HKUST?

@Rider99 Nope, I’m waiting as well (fast track) :frowning:

I think the HKU guys are doing a really bad job, I did my interview via Skype on 5th January and I still don’t have a shred of a response from them. And somewhere around 10th January, everyone, I think got a mail regarding ‘voluntary’ interviews which we can show up to if time allows, now I emailed them asking whether not attending the interview would affect my app negatively or not, given that I have had my interview already via Skype, their representative quoted the exact same text from their email. It was like I ask some person how they are doing, and he/she replies “apple pie”. Disgusting it is.

I gotta agree with you on that (hope they don’t find out I did). I forgot to send my supplementary writing via commonapp for early applications in November. I found that out after early dates were over and I emailed them asking if there was another way I could apply. They never replied to that email. So I figured that out for myself and used the HKU Online Application system. Did the interview on 12/14 and never got the results yet. I’m fine with that. But just a couple of days ago, they sent me an email saying that I am not allowed to apply using both CommonApp and HKU Online thing. If the admissions office had ever read my email, they would have known… Anyways, can’t believe it’s taking more than a month after the interview to tell me the results.

As I see, some got offers for BBA and, B.Sc and not for Engineering from any of these Universities. This is because individual faculties have to give their choice to Admissions Office for announcement and Engineering faculty usually have more applications, I guess they take more time than others. Let us hope they speed up.

@Rider99 I have never heard of anyone getting results back from BBA. More than 10 students at our school has applied to HKU BBA, and they have not received an offer from HKU yet. If you know anyone that has heard back from HKU for BBA, do you know when they’ve received their results? For all I know, I thought it was only the Econ ppl that got their results back.
