Hi
Just wondering if anyone has applied, is enrolled or graduated from HKU and could share his/her experience. How hard is it to get in? Appearantly they don’t need anything like GRE/GMAT and recommendation letter so what’s their admissions criteria? Do they have a good career center?

Thanks

hello zerolife,

i have not graduated from hku but i am a current undergraduate in hku. HKu is a really good university. it has good facilities and the professors are really good as they what they are teaching. they are also very helpful and friendly as they would gladly sit down with you if you have any doubts about your lessons. Competition to get in is tough to get in if you are a local student. They normally conduct interviews if your an international student. and yes you don’t need a recommendation letter if your applying but however you do need at least two referees if i’m not mistaken. and their admission criteria depends on what course your applying for. And yes they do have a good career centre. There are plenty of recruitment talks and many companies come to recruite people too such as loreal, IBM and the big fours ( e&Y, deloitte and etc…). Hku is a really good university. you should send in your application soon as it is already open.

为什么你们要在英语呢?你不知道你需要在大学讲中文

Hello Zerolife,

I just wonder have u apply to HKU already? how r the outcome?
I am applying for the coming intake… and would also like to know how competitive is it to get into postgrad in HKU…
hope u can share here^^

Many thanks in advance…

ok you don’t need to know chinese for HKU…
people use English there
and knowing how to speak Chinese is not the same as knowing how to read or type Chinese
ps hk people use traditional chinese characters…

I’m not sure if I’m too late with my response.

Since HKU had a relatively late deadline (varies by department) and very easy application process, I decided to apply only if I failed with my top two choices … well that luckily didn’t happen.

I did have a chance to meet two US citizens graduated from HKU and was told that as long as you are willing to pay the tuition for foreigners, you shouldn’t have a problem getting in.
