Hours of school per week

I’m an intl from France and I have 38 hours of class per week. Yes 38!!!
that means that i’m in school from 8 to 5 or 6 pm every day of the week with an hour and a half lunch break. The only days I have off are saturday afternoon and sunday!
How do you expect me to have loads of EC’s and be part of several clubs?
How many hours of class do you guys have per week?

Axfr, 38 is not that much [of course it is not light either!]… I though that You have something like 50-60, You were mentioning it so often.

its much more than the average american/british/german student.
btw, its more than the average french laborer (35h per week)

8:00-11:30 twice a week and 8:00-12:25 three times a week. Only because I prefer to self-study half the stuff I take. :)

I’m a senior, btw. In my first 3 years, my school day was from 8:00 to 3:30.

8:20-2:37 Monday to Friday with lunch from 12:29-1:15

49 hours a week here

…oops.

classes start at 9.00am finish at 3.10pm on mon, tues, friday.
Classes start at 8.50am finish at 3.00pm on wed, thurs.

Interval from 11:00am - 11:20am - 20 min
Lunch from 12:20pm - 1:10pm - 50min

5 periods a day (1 hour each on monday, tuesday, friday and 50min each on wednesday and thursday…weird, I know)

Total of 30 hours per week including lunch and interval.
Total of 24.5 hours per week excluding lunch and interval.
lol my school is like playschool.

wow… finishing at 3pm…
by the time I get home, its 6 o’clock. Just enough time to grab my tennis racket or my saxophone and rush out again for practice lol.

Pah. All you Westerners complain too much. Come on over to Asia. Try one of China’s cram schools. Or even Japan’s.

You guys have it easy.

Seriously.

lol…i have the lightest load: 8 am to 1:20 pm 5 days a week with a 20 minute break in between…thats 25 hours :)

sucharita, I have about 20 hours a week. :p

In europe usually You cannot take or not take courses. Everyone has the same.
AxFR I was learning during travel to school.
I learned whole univ genetics in trams and trains :). Try it.

you don’t choose your courses BUT you choose your stream and additional options.
Some of my friends only have 25h/week, they haven’t taken any options.
I go to school by bike, so its kinda hard to read when im slaloming between the heavy morning traffic…;)

Well no one here probably has a schedule tighter than mine.

6 hours school, 5 days a week = 30 hours
4 hours coaching, 3-4 days a week = 12-16 hours
3 hours commuting time, 5 days a week = 15 hours

Total = 57-61 hours / week

what dyou mean by coaching?

like your SAT prep, but this one’s intensive; it’s for Indian Institute of Technology’s “Joint Entrance exam” … arguably the toughest engineering entrance exam in the world.

I’ve seen a JEE. That thing is hell.

lol I understand mercurysquad. I’m half indian, so I know that competition in India is simply out of this world

look at my schedule

5.am-3.00 p.m school Mon-Fri
9.am-6.00 p.m Sat-SUn coaching

38 is inhuman.

I have around 21 hours.

Monday–10-11:30
Tuesday–8:00-2:30
Wednesday–10-1, 2-4
Thursday–11:30-2:30
