House:Everybody Dies

The title of the last episode of House that is on next week.

Over the last 8 years…I have watched more House than any other show.

I think House is still the most popular show in the world.

I am bummed that the show is ending.

Just venting.

Now he will have more time to play music.
But I will miss it too.

I hadn’t sensed that there was a proper trajectory toward satisfying finality these last several episodes, with the Wilson plot feeling a bit isolated and plain. Tonight’s episode, though, really mustered a neat cohesion, I felt. The capricious faces of House began to converge when Wilson the constant tempted evanescence and thrust volatility, with self-discovery or -destruction the only apparent possibility. The restrained but evident sentimentality throughout, even the subtle handling of Thirteen’s return, is a great testament to the sincere characterization that the show has established over the seasons; elsewhere it would have seemed, as Thirteen said, saccharine. Here it was convincing.

dstark! Spoiler alert!

House isn’t ending; it’s in syndication. We watch 3 or 4 episodes a week. IMO the earlier seasons were better anyway, before the House/Cuddy romance took over last season and it got weird.

Speaking of which, will Cuddy, Chase and Cameron make an appearance next week?

Cuddy is not coming back…

The others are…

Yep…syndication…

I don’t know how many times we have watched each show.

I have no idea what Silverturtle wrote…I am too lazy to look up some of those words in a dictionary. :)

Hugh Laurie is an extremely talented guy. Yep…if he wants…more time for music.

I loved the show in its early seasons. Eventually, the completely unrealistic portrayal of how hospitals are run and how healthcare is delivered just irritated me too much. If I weren’t a nurse, I probably wouldn’t have felt that way, because the stories were compelling and the acting was, of course, fantastic.

I used to watch it with my son, but now only occasionally catch reruns… :(

"…completely unrealistic portrayal of how hospitals are run and how healthcare is delivered…"

This is why we don’t watch ANY medical dramas. I remember back in 93 or 94 when ER had the episode about the woman in a crisis labor/delivery and the ER doctor was completely alone … In a major medical center teaching hospital! … Trying to deliver the baby and save the mother. The details of the episode are fuzzy in my memory, but I DO recall that that was only time EVER, (other than sports) that DH has yelled at the TV.

Scrubs, however, was a breath of fresh air.

I also love the show and watch the reruns which are better than the current episodes. I don’t get to see it much on tv as my wife has to watch “Dancing with the stars” (I don’t mind this show - nice eye candy) and “The Bachelorette”.

I don’t get why the show is ending. I was surprised it was ending. I will miss this show.

Last night it felt that the show had inevitably led to this point, with the absence of Cuddy highlighting the fact that neither House nor Wilson, though Wilson more than House, had managed to establish an adult emotional life. Cuddy has her child who finally became more important to her than the unhealthy relationship with House. Chase finally matured as did Cameron and Foreman earlier.

This was the first episode in which I really liked Foreman in his new role.

I think it’s time for the series to end because it explored all the ways these two characters failed to grow up. Wilson was actually terrified of the responsibility of his rent-a-kid. I think tracing the destructive trajectories of House’s narcissism and Wilsin’s inability to fully commit is an important artistic achievement that is being concluded in a thematically relevant way before the characters go completely off the rails and jump the shark as the series did with the final episode last season.

It could have ended then with House on the beach, but I think this is better.

I’m so sad to see this show end. I think next week someone should finally be diagnosed with sarcoidosis.

“I’m so sad to see this show end. I think next week someone should finally be diagnosed with sarcoidosis.”

Lol…

I stopped watching House a few years ago…too depressing and frustrating for me that House never, ever got out of his destructive cycle. I know there are people like that, but I don’t need to be around them for entertainment. Don’t like depressing movies either. Call me immature…but, there you go!

That’s not immature. I just kept hoping. I’m that way with my H too! And I suppose I grew as addicted to House as Wilson.

I loved house for the first set of doctors. Was OK with the second set. Pretty much hated it after that. I cannot watch it. It’s the same story line over and over again. I will eventually catch up…maybe… but I’m not holding my breath.

The past 2 seasons have been disappointing compared to the prior seasons. I’ve never really connected to his new team so it may be better that it’s ending now.

I loved house, but I lost interest in it a long time ago. I don’t know how it is now, but a few years ago if you missed an episode you couldn’t watch it online until AFTER the next episode aired, so there was no way to ever catch up again unless you caught it as a re-run. I fell behind and ended up losing interest before I could catch up. It was a shame, but I never managed to connect to the newer characters or develop much interest in most of them… I’ve never stopped watching a show before it ended before!

I think the real tragedy is that NBC cancelled Awake. It was very well done and had aces to go.

mythmom-- I SO AGREE!!! I am so disappointed. My boyfriend showed us previews for that show last fall and was so excited for it to come out, and we enjoy it so much. I’m really surprised it didn’t do well enough.
