How do I stop procrastinating for junior year?

I have major problems with procrastination and motivation! I really want great grades so I can get into a good college and I take hard classes that I would do well in if I could do my work, but it takes so much for me to motivate myself and start my work after school! Sophomore year last year it really became a problem, and now I’m entering junior year with pretty bad study habits.

I’m on a block schedule so I’ll only have five classes at a time (two of them are A/B), plus EC.

Classes:
APUSH paired with AP English
AP Environmental
Ap Stat
Honors Precalc
Spanish 1& 2
PEPI (not really a class, you go to elementary schools and teach physical activity.)

I also do competitive dance three days a week plus varied weekend rehearsals and competitions that take up the whole weekend during the season:
Monday- 7-9:45
Tuesday-6-9:30
Wednesday-6:30-9:45

I also do dance team at my school, and we rehearse on Tuesdays from 3-5, and occasionally on Thursdays plus basketball games.

So I obviously don’t have time to waste. My biggest problem is actually getting started. Last year I hardly started my homework before dance, and I would stay up so late all the time. I really need any advice on handling all this! Thanks(:

Hey,

I can relate to some of your sentiments as I was much like you in HS. I procrastinated on pretty much everything, but managed to escape unscathed as I’m now going to a pretty good college. haha I know I won’t get away with this in college, though, so I’ve been looking for help too.

I came across this guide a couple of days ago and although it’s meant for college I think you might be able to learn a few things from it still (Pomodoro technique!). I’m planning on implementing it starting this Fall in college and it just might help you this coming year too.
