I need 5 minimum, 8 is the goal most nights.

I typically need 8 to function at full capacity. Any less than 7 and I’m at least mildly impaired. Less than six and I’m dead for the day.

You can be physically active and academically inclined.

It varies. When I’m allowed to sleep as long as I want I usually sleep twelve hours or so, but I’m also fine on four or five hours.

I like to have around 7 or 8 hours, but I can function with 6. In the Summer, I really like getting 11-12

ideally, at least 8 hours, but sometimes if i’m in a good mood, 7 is fine too.

I can function with zero for about a day and a half (and with no coffee!) I end up having physical pains but mentally I’m fine and can concentrate. On almost all my AP and SAT tests I took them with less than 3 hours of sleep. During the weekends I sleep around 11 hours.

On average I get 4-5 a night during the weekdays.

I’ve always slept a very minimal amount since I was in middle school because I would stay up and read at night so I guess I’ve acclimated myself.

In the summer I’ve been getting around 5-6 hours, and that plus a nap is good for me! In the past school year though - junior year for me - it was usually around 2 hours a night, and some weeks I would go 2 or 3 days without sleeping. I did survive though! Managed to do projects and take tests and not be a zombie in class. I guess it really does depend on the person.

I can function on as little as 3-4 hours sleep, but on average I get 6-7 hours a night.

10 hours per night.

6-7 for me.

Ideally 12 hours. But due to after school sports year round everyday and homework it’s about 5 hours each night. But I still find time for fun too. I’m not a total nerd.

@1sparkle2 I’m well aware of that. My school is filled with those kids who are good at both sports and academics. I was specifically referring to my case.

As long as you have a solid work ethic, going to sleep earlier should be fine. I maintained As/A+s last year while going to bed at 9 or 10 every night. In fact, I even tried to take advantage of that by waking up early every morning and studying for an hour or two – terrible idea. You won’t grasp a thing.

Try laying out your clothes/packing your bag/anything you can do the night before to streamline your getting-ready-for-school process. That way, you can catch a bit more sleep and not be in an urgent rush for the bus stop every morning.

If it’s only one night I can function with 4 or 5. Over time though, I need at least 6 hours a night.

During the school year I go to sleep around 10 but don’t fall asleep usually till like 11 or sometimes 12. Alot of times I wake up through the night, when I wake up and I see its like 2 am I get so mad cuz I know I need to sleep. I have to wake up at 5 am every day to take the bus cuz I don’t go to my neighborhood school. So during the morning I’m not very active cuz I’m just cranky and tired.

I could function on 6-7, but my problem is waking up… I usually sleep for like 6-7 hours, and I wake up and see that I can sleep for another 30 minutes, so I just go ahead and hit “snooze”.

I usually get like 6-7, but if I’m doing some late night homework or something I end up trying to survive off of 3

Need like 8 hours. I have gotten by on 5-6 hours before but I avoid those if I can. If I had my way I’d sleep 10-11 hours.

I usually get 6 and a half hours and I can be good in the morning. Then I’m dead by 3 but I stay up and then I’m awake at night so I stay up late and the cycle resumes.
