About 7 or 8 hours. I usually get about 6 hours on a typical school night…

I’ve gotten as little as 2 hours of sleep on several school nights during junior year, but I like to get a minimum of 4 hours. I can survive with less, but I’d prefer not to

Of course, 4 hours a school night is perfectly normal for me, but that’s only assuming that I get 8 on weekends. :)

For me, anything more than 6 hours on a school night is a lot haha. My parents work early in the morning and late until nighttime, so I wouldn’t be able to see them if I slept early. Plus with my ECs/work/school, it would be hard to sleep before 1AM anyways.

I usually get around 6-8 hours

6-7, but I usually get 10+ if I can.

I usually get 7-7.5 during the school year. Less than 6 and I have stomach troubles in the morning that settle down soon, but still not fun :/

I typically sleep 5-6 hours

I personally need at least 6 hours a night. When I am physically active, I find it hard to stay up past 11.

I usually get 5-7 hours but I’d like to have 10! It sucks… I’m always tired during the school year

I have pulled a few all-nighters on school days but that was (not because of studying) pretty bad. I can function pretty well at 5-6 while 8 is ideal. If i have an test the next morning no amount of studying will benefit me more than 8 hours of sleep.

However i do know a girl who has trained herself to take 3-4 1 hour naps thoughout the day and function perfectly. She said it took about 2 years of training and that it was terrible.

On normal school nights I get about 3. As long as I’m not really stressed, that amount is usually fine for me (I got my best SAT scores with two hours over the preceding two days ^.^). On weekends I’ll do 6, but I find that the more sleep I get, the more tired I am.

I also live an hour away from my school so I have to get up early (5 or 5:30) compared to others.

last year, I only needed like 4 hours of sleep. Usually got 7-8
This year, I still only need about 4 hours to function, I should get 8-9 this year cause school hours are changing

4 to function, over 6 to do it well. Going more than a few days on 4 hours just won’t work.

4 hours is doable. Not fun, but doable. Actually, I’m really caffeine sensitive, and I found that out by drinking coffee past 6 pm. Slept all of one hour that night, and I wasn’t even tired the next day. Not doing it again though unless I have to. 8 hours is ideal, but it never happens, so I get by on 6 most of the time.

To function, I need about 5. But to actually be comfortable and alert, I need between 7 and 8. I usually get anywhere from 4-6 in the beginning of the school year, then I start getting a bit lazy, so less studying and more sleeping!

I usually get 5-6 hours. On rare occasions I can get 7 hours and on extreme and slightly more frequent occasions, 3-4 hours. Getting up at 5:30 to catch a 6:20 school bus is annoying and scary since it’s pretty much night outside.

4 hours with coffee to operate but I would like 10+ hours of sleep. xD

6-7 during the school year, but I need 9.

Ideally I’d like to get a full 8 hours. I usually get around 6 but on nights when homework is due the next day I will possibly get 4-5 and try to do my homework before its due.

I can function just fine on four hours if you give me coffee and food. I may take an ibuprofen at the end of the day, though.

My school’s unofficial motto was basically “Sleep is for the weak”. I need 2-3 to function and 6 to feel rested. This can vary though, because if I wake up in the middle of a REM cycle I’ll be tired for the rest of the day.

Some people mentioned sleep cycles, a few of my friends trained them selves to take 30 min naps every 2 hours. It is documented as an effective sleep cycle but is basically hell for 2 weeks as you train yourself.
