How often do you unsubscribe from a thread?

<p>Ha ha. No infractions here, but I was annoyed to find some of my posts deleted (in response to Indian Parent who is no longer with us). </p>

<p>I usually check 'Control Panel" then “New Posts”. Sometimes I check individual forums.</p>

<p>Out of curiosity, if you do not subscribe how are you aware if an old thread gets updated? I would think if you aren’t checking CC multiple times a day, you wouldn’t know since there are so many threads out there.</p>

<p>I find the “search” funtion to be next to useless so I subscribe to threads that discuss something I’m interested in but where I have nothing to contribute. For example “schools with good merit aid” or something similar.</p>

<p>As far as threads going off topic, that is where I find the entertainment value of CC…a poster takes offense with some small nuance of a thread and suddenly things are careening wildly out of control! When I see a locked thread I nearly always take a peak inside.</p>

<p>I don’t subscribe to threads, but I do subscribe to the forum for S’s school because it goes dormant for months at a time (the last post was in August).</p>
