Seriously, congrats to Bloomy. I knew that he was going to be accepted. I’ll bet you had a lot of applicants from your school. I know the feeling of relief and it is terrific.

Congratulations, Bloomy! It is amazing how much more time you will have when you are not busy checking Gibson ever other minute, LOL. I wish good luck to the rest of you still waiting, don’t give up hope!

Vitrac - I laughed OUT LOUD at your post!!!

Thanks everyone for your support - I seriously don’t know how I would have survived w/o this forum and your positivity!!! My son doesn’t even know yet - I am the obsessive one who checked Gibson all the time. I am trying to think of a creative way to tell him…I will let you all know his reaction!

mumof2 - I will definitely have a lot more free time…I can even put my feet up:)

I am pulling for those who are still waiting - obviously the submit date doesn’t matter - they get to the app when they get to it!

Bloomy, put your feet up and pour yourself your favorite beverage. Take a deep breath and enjoy the moment. Congrats.

BLOOMY! What a relief for you ! Did you tell your son yet?

…and the cheese stands alone! I feel like we are the last of the old timers. Anyone else out there with me?

“The cheese stands alone”

Ollie – that made diet coke come out of my nose.

Maybe you could repost your kid’s stats? My recollection is that they were pretty similar to my kid’s last year, who got in and got a merit scholly. Could be my kid got slow played by TU last year but we didn’t know it (since we oblivious-ed CC and Gibson).

Northwesty, what’s slow played? My DD applied SCEA at the end of October. She showed a lot of interest. She goes to a very competitive college prep school that doesn’t offer AP’s until Junior year. She has a 3.58 GPA ( 3.2 Freshman year and 3.7 Sophomore and Junior year. so) She had a 31 ACT ( 34 English. 34 reading, 31 Science and 25 Math- we all have our areas of weakness.) She has taken 5 AP’s, but her school does not weight and a couple of honors…what do you think? I am staying positive although at the moment I am banned from Gibson. My DD caught me on it last night and had a fit. I promised her I would wait to hear from her and so far I have honored that. This morning I found it liberating but by noon I was having withdraw. I’m not trying to be funny- My hands were getting sweaty and I had to take deep breaths and try positive self talk and remind myself that I had to respect her wishes. I have made it through ALMOST 24 hours. I know that she checks regularly but somehow I feel the need to check as well. Do you think I’m a control freak? No wonder she wants to go so far away to college.

Oliver17 - you are not alone! I can be the whine to your cheese!!! DS is the opposite of your daughter. He texts me several times each day asking me to check Gibson. The next 9 days are going to be very, very long!

We can commiserate together… We’re still waiting, too!

Oliver17, aquamom + Jaynebe - I feel your pain - but it is almost over!!! 9 more days at the LATEST and you will have an answer! Stay positive - I know it is very hard - we are all pulling for you!!!

So - when I got home my son was already celebrating…he heard during lunch that another kid got in from his school - you think he would have checked Gibson right then + there. He was very happy!!!

Good luck to everyone waiting - my fingers are crossed for all of you!

oliver17 - from 1 control freak to another - I am shocked you made 24 hours! Good for you - if my son told me the same thing, I don’t know how i would have controlled myself! You have my respect…or you could just go on + play dumb!
