Gilees - yes, decisions can be posted on the weekends sometimes. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were working at least half days on the weekend this time of year.

So happy for Jaynebe!!!

And yes, LINYMOM… jaynebe and I met ONLINE when we were pregnant with the kids who are now going to college… amazing, right?

I’ve been checking up on everyones successes over the last few weeks but never bothered to post. Daughter still waiting for decision. Applied mid-October. I would put her on the lower end of what I have seen posted here for qualifications but by no means is Tulane a super reach school for her. I figured with so much good news over the last few days, maybe posting here would help!!

JDM1964: most people viewing CC are probably more savvy or involved than the average Joe or JoAnn, most people who post to CC are probably more savvy or involved than the typical CC viewers AND the stats that are usually posted are SO stellar that they should be shouted from the rooftops. I believe it can be dangerous to your mental health ( as it was to mine) to assume that this Board is the ‘typical’ applicant to Tulane.

Congrats Jaynebe! And to all those who have received offers of admission!!

@doingthisagain…I share your sentiments. I know for a fact that 90% of the parents of my daughters classmates are not following their students progress and chances in places like CC. The average parent of the average student is just hoping for that letter in the mail. Those with exceptional students are here on CC…lol.

JAYNEBE - CONGRATS!!! Sleep well this weekend!!!

I’d just like to pop my head in here, I’ve been reading some of the posts - it’s helpful. I’m an applicant to Tulane, currently awaiting my EA decision. Status just changed yesterday to the “pending” message, so I’m anxiously awaiting! Good luck to everyone who hasn’t yet heard!

JMD1964- I think you know a good thing when you see it and you’re hoping for a little luck from our CC group. You’re lucky that we are such and inclusive group. I feel confident that everyone will include you in our wishes! ( You too f4ngz77 and everyone else that’s waiting!) Stay positive!

Hey guys, Tulane University has been my dream school… I go to a private boarding school in New England, where 3 people have been accepted on December 1, December 2. However, I have an arts supplement.
I applied Nov 6th… do you think the arts supplement is slowing my decision down? Gibson said its pending

ACT-27/ GPA 3.70/ 2 AP’s/ 300 + community service/ 11 years of theater/singing/ however I am jewish and my residency is in nj (they get alot of male jewish apps from nj)- Should I be nervous???

CHANCE ME PLEASE!!!

Your application is complete. The Committee on Admission is working to render your decision as quickly as possible. If you have questions regarding your status, please call the Undergraduate Admission Office at 800-873-WAVE (9283).

Can someone please reply??? Do you know if anyone has been deferred yet, and are they still accepting people… I need to mentally prepare myself for this decision

You can be accepted upto the 15th. People have been deffered when you find out has nothing to do with your decision.

Hope for the best but prepare for the worst is all you can do

13all–I would imagine–and this is only a guess–that the arts supplement slows the process considerably. After all, it has to go through another layer of approvals, right? Much like the architecture applications. Your ACTs could be higher, but you already know that. You don’t indicate if your GPA is weighted or not. You also don’t indicate if your school offers many more than 2 APs. Did you write a Why Tulane essay? You have only one more week of nervousness. We are all rooting for you. Good luck!

Yes! My GPA is weighted… UW-3.55, I go to a presigious CT boarding school, and I have a lot to offer… My school offers 15 AP’s, but I have taken 2 of them, and I’ve taken many honors courses as well… I am in the top 20 percent of a competitive school, however they really know I am interested… I’ve sent multiple e-mails to my admissions counselor etc. WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM DEFERRED???

Not to switch the subject
I have another prob… I applied to Wake Forest ED, not expecting to get in, but apparently I hear back on the same day as tulane… Wake is my 2nd choice, and my CC said i have a better chance at Wake than Tulane, even though 3 ppl have been accepted to Tulane so far and the other girl from Wake got denied, not even deferred…

My why tulane essay was fantastic… thanks for all the supporters out there… If anyone has heard of anyone getting deferred yet, let me know… please… I know 6 people personally, who have gotten in, and they did so a week ago.

13all - If you applied to Wake ED and you do get in, you don’t have a problem. Your decision is made, since you agreed with Wake that if they take you, you will go. I am not saying they would come after you in court or anything, they cannot actually make you go. But certainly you made a very serious promise with them that if they took you then you have accepted by mutual agreement.

Besides, Wake is a great school. True, Winston-Salem and New Orleans are light years apart, and the schools themselves certainly have different atmospheres even putting aside the cities they are in, impossible though that is since the city influences the campus atmosphere very strongly. And you cannot go by what has happened with other applicants. Different schools really do approach the admissions process and criteria differently. Sure, academic record is primary at any highly selective school, you will almost always get weeded out if your record is obviously below their standards. But yours is competitive, if not the strongest it could be. So your arts interest could weigh heavily with either school, very hard to predict. I would say that having taken only 2 AP’s out of 15 offered will hurt you some, especially combined with the lowish ACT score. But again, artist types are considered slightly differently I would think. In any case, you will have two answers pretty soon.

Just curious 13all94, did you submit your test scores to Wake? I just recently was surprised to learn that Wake is a test optional school, maybe the only, but certainly at least one of the few top 30 schools that doesn’t require SAT’s or ACT’s for the application process, but requires you to submit the score if you are accepted and enroll, just for their own information (and I am sure for reporting their stats for rankings). If you applied to Wake ED and didn’t submit your ACT score, I would say that you will probably be headed to Wake next year unless the lack of AP’s keep you from being accepted.

13all94: The mother in me has to advise you not to share specific information about yourself on this or any other forum. Your qualifications put you on the low end of the applicant pool from this forum. it doesn’t mean you won’t get in.
