How soon will we hear about admission decision?

Still waiting for a decision here too. No change in status since DS’s file went complete on November 9th.

13all94 - I am glad you were able to get the admins to remove the link to your personal web site and remove completely the post where you claimed you were hacked. I would hate to see someone’s chances hurt over a mistake and then panic. While I don’t think anyone was overly judgmental (some judgment is a good thing, actually), I think it all was for your own good and in fact did you much good. After all, if someone from Wake had seen those posts…

So moving on, I would be surprised if you had any trouble getting into C of C, Denver, or SMU. Elon is a tough call.

Fallenchemist: Why is Elon a tough call??? What are they looking for? Not to stray away from Tulane or anything…

Thank You for the positive feedback… I love this site and I know what to post now, (and what not to)… I will post my decision…

Glad to hear others are waiting…my DS applied back in late Sept., transcripts, etc. were finalzed a few weeks ago and he still hasn’t heard anything. He has a great ACT (33), strong EC, and is a NMSF. He’s applied to 6 schools, only heard back from one (Wisconsin - in!)

McMomma: Congrats on Wisconsin- Thats a great school… However, a bit too big for my liking… I have lots of friends who love it there… I don’t think he’ll have any problem getting into Tulane, and if you are looking for FA, he’ll get alot of it, depending on his grades.

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR 5 OTHER SCHOOLS.

Fallenchemist: Why is elon a tough call, its my 3rd choice, I’d love to go there…  If tulane and wake both give me bad news…

Thanks 13all94! His grades are a 4.1, highest scholar honors all 4 years so far, AP classes, the usual. Wisconsin is his “back up” plan school, so he was happy to hear a YES from them. Tulane could also be a good back up (to Notre Dame and Vanderbilt), especially if they offer good FA. He’ll need it ;-)

This site is making me feel better since I applied to Tulane on Nov. 6th

McMomma!
His grades and crudentials are far more than mine, however, I have my background in the performing arts and community service, I have also held 4 internships… i have a passion for sales and marketing and my essays, interviews, and recs were fabulous. I just hope they are looking for a new a baritone for their “a capella” groups or just a nice package…

Wish me luck and please PM me when he gets his acceptances, I will reciprocate…

13all - I just meant I hadn’t kept up with Elon much the last couple of years so I didn’t know how competitive they had gotten. I know there was a surge of interest when they were named in the book “Colleges That Change Lives”, I think it was called. But looking at the recent admissions stats and all, you should be in pretty good shape with that application as well.

Fallenchemist: Do you know how many apps Tulane received EA???

OMG: Your decision is pending review We will try to get you a decision in just a few weeks, but you will receive an update on your admission status by Decenber 15th at the latest.

new status on gibson… What does this mean??? A FEW WEEKS???

No, I have never seen (or don’t remember seeing) a stat on that. The Common Data Set doesn’t ask for that number either. I only know they receive anywhere from 35,000-45,000 applications in total the last few years. It went down a little when they started asking for a “Why Tulane” statement.

Ignore the few weeks part. If your application was complete by Nov. 15, you will get a decision by December 15.

That makes sense, fallenchemist. Good to know just a few more days before DS has an answer!

I guess I hear from WFU before I do Tulane… I have my school musical this week… Its gonna be a longgg long long 7 days.

We all wish you the best of luck that you get accepted by WFU.

Good Luck!

A lot of other seniors from my school who applied EA to Tulane have all heard back saying that they have been admitted. I, though, haven’t heard back yet and submitted my application relatively early in mid October. I also am a strong applicant for Tulane (gpa, ACT, activities). Is it weird that I haven’t heard back yet? I keep checking Gibson and the constant notification to me is that the ‘my application is complete …’

I don’t think it’s weird that you haven’t heard back. The 15th is less than a week away so you don’t have to wait too much longer!

13all94- Elon is actively seeking Jewish students. As a Jewish, male, Northerner you might be very attractive to them. From Reform Judaism Magazine:

While Elon University is affiliated with United Church of Christ, it has a growing Jewish student population because it is actively promoting diversity in faith within its student body. A new brochure touts Jewish life at Elon, Elon’s website links to Hillel, and a part-time rabbi is on staff. Parents are very active and make direct contact with Jewish students. And last year, for the first time, Elon participated in the college fair for Jewish families in the D.C. area.
