<p>My daughter (deferred) wrote to her admission counselor to see if there was anything she could do to strengthen her application. No feedback really, but the good news that I wanted to share with the forum is that we were told that she can still be considered for the Dean’s Scholarship and/or Merit - although they will obviously only award it to her if she ends up accepted at Tulane. So there is some financial hope for those who are deferred.</p>
<p>Thanks everyone for the guidance. I am beyond angry. But I will try to moderate. The ad com took more than 4 weeks to respond to 2 initial correspondences from my son. This evening, he wrote her a very polite email explaining that he did in fact apply EA and that he has a copy of the application. He asked what else he can do to be considered by the 15th. I am concerned that she won’t respond/notice this email until it is too late. This same adcom also did not show up for an admissions session at his high school. The kids all went for the meeting and they were never given an explanation for the cancelation. FC - thanks for the suggestion of sending a scanned copy of the application pages with his name and the EA selection.</p>
<p>Aquamom5 - Just wondering, who is your counselor? I have seen the exact opposite for mine.</p>
<p>Aqua: Awful for your child. Our Counselor was super. She responded to everything within 24 hours, even when she was out of commission for a week following surgery. We were lucky to have Rachel Kohn.</p>
<p>We had Rachel Kohn too. Very professional and responsive when we had Gibson issues. Aquamom-it’s not necessary to name names here. I truly believe this will all be straightened out tomorrow.</p>
<p>Yeah I had the same counselor as the two posters above and I had the exact opinion. After my experience with her and Tulane’s admission office, out of all the schools I applied to I thought Tulane had the most well-run, productive and efficient office. I was very delighted with the entire process.</p>
<p>I agree - no point in naming names. However, it was not Rachel, who my son met when we visited Tulane last spring. She is a close friend of a dear friend of ours and she was wonderful. I am sorry she wasn’t our adcom. Sounds like we would have avoided this mess!</p>
<p>Aquamom–how frustrating! So sorry for the screw ups but glad your son was smart enough to save a copy!</p>

I knew it was coming and admissions said all pending apps as of tomorrow at 8 pm are deferred officially… Cheer up we all have a chance in the regular pool. I got into college of charleston with a 20 k vocal performance and musical theater scholarship </p>

<p>If I end up getting deferred, I’m deferred. As I’ve always said, everything happens for a reason. It’s been quite a ride!</p>
<p>My admissions rep said they got 42,000 apps they have rejected ppl this year for the 1st time… So deferral isn’t crap- they said that they would accept me as a transfer too - what is charlestons reputation </p>
