I need new clothes and I hate shopping. Help!

I have found nice more pricey jeans at not-so-pricy prices at Nordstrom Rack. Takes a little time to go through the racks but they do have quite a few jeans.

Nordstromrack.com is your friend in this instance, as is regular Nordstrom and other department stores clearance. I regularly check them out and find Paige and AG for less that $70, sometimes less than $50 (that is rarer tho and helped by the fact daughters are size 25 and size 26 in jeans).

Once I found the jeans brand/size that worked for each of my kids, I then basically check all the clearance areas for them whenever shopping. I do most shopping online, so it is easy to check clearance section on websites.

This is not a political statement but have to say, Kamala Harris looked fantastic in her jeans at the rally in Atlanta last night! Great example of paring jeans up with a blazer for a great look!

I just got a new pair of Paige jeans at Nordstrom Rack for $89 and a second pair at Bloomingdales for $99. I love Paige jeans as they fit me best and I needed to replace a couple of pairs of their jeans that I have had for 8-10 years.

I hate to shop and I definitely don’t spend much on clothes – and I keep the ones I do purchase for years and years.

The only jeans and other pants I’ve found that work for my body type (5’6, fairly long legs) are Gloria Vanderbilt’s Amanda jeans. Definitely not high-end, but uber comfortable and they also come in corduroy, which I love.

I can get to several very large indoor malls in about 15 minutes, but I prefer to shop online at stores with free shipping both ways (I can also get to 2 ups drop boxes, 2 ups stores, staples and kohls in 5 minutes so shipping back is easy). I do a lot at old navy because it’s so inexpensive, my 23 year old fashionista discovered it this year and told me I need to go to old navy, clothes are cute (sizes run big so she learned she needs the smallest size they offer). I’m taller (not tall) at 5’8”, 32 inseam, they have tall for pants and shirts, plus of course reviews. I don’t machine dry most of the shirts because they tend to shrink up, not in (but I’m not going to cry over a $15 item). Nordstrom is also very convenient with shipping, and Ann Taylor loft. Amazon is of course easy too.

A lot of companies with athleisure are now offering longer length options for leggings (Aerie, Spanx and Vuori). I generally like Loft for basics. The kick flare style of pants that is popular might be suited to your leg length.

Also, check out Merrick White on instagram (name on instagram is Merricksart). She puts together lots of great outfits and has many blog posts covering lots of outfit options for many kinds of occasions. There are some higher end clothes but also lots of affordable options. She recently did a line of cropped wide legged pants for Anthropologie that are very cute.

Yes, I mentioned her above. I really love these pants in her collection - but I am not willing to spend $150/pair of pants (I don’t wear them a lot!)

Old navy is one of the few places my younger kid (tall and extremely slim) can find pants that fit.

Oh sorry, didn’t see your post! Yes, I’m also not willing to spend that on pants, but was thinking OP might! Will have to live vicariously through her.

There are deals to be found on the pricey jean brands. As others have mentioned, Nordstrom Rack. Also 6pm/Amazon, SaksOff5th, Revolve, ShopBop, Premium Outlets. Zappos will also run sales. It’s super helpful if you know what style and sizes fit you best so there’s not a need for a lot of returning. For those who love Anthro, they put a lot of the premium jeans on their sale (sometimes only limited sizes are available). If they last until their extra 40% sale (happening now, btw), that’s an extra 40% off!

I also add things to my Nordstrom wish list (online) and it notifies me when they go on sale.

@bhs1978 I just checked nordstromrack.com and there are so many pairs of paige jeans on sale for just under $55 per pair.

Also quite a few between $60 - $90 per pair.

Seems like good time to try Paige if you are interested.

For everyday, I live in Vuori performance joggers. I have one pair in most colors. I also love their tops, too short for most people, just right for me as I’m only 5’2". For more dressy clothes, I like to look at Ann Taylor and Nordstrom, all in petite. My daughter and her husband have used the personal shopper at Nordstrom and they seem happy with it.
I also like Paige jeans as Nordstrom will shorten for free.

This is how Vuori joggers are supposed to fit (pic taken at the local bougie Nordstrom last night):

Love that bougie look. Seriously though, I love that length - just a little skin showing off.

Our local mall just got a Vuori store

They are just so comfortable! Like butter. I can’t really stomach the price, but have been lucky enough to be gifted 3 pairs. I love my sis!

Thank you. I will check it out. I know that I will not pay the price on their website.

For first time buyers, they give you 20% off. I bought a lot with the coupon as my D has also gifted me a few items so I know their fit from the store. 6 months later, they sent me another 20% coupon, saying they missed me. I called my friends and we pooled our purchases to use the coupon.

I like it that that length is popular. I’m short but can the have the ankle length I prefer.

Most of the clothing I buy is pretty inexpensive (or very inexpensive from local ARC charity thrift store). At the other end of the spectrum I have some pricier pieces from a small local shop with helpful, friendly owner/stylist (my husband and I were coworkers once with her husband). She specializes in items that are US made or fair trade imports. After losing weight about 7 years ago, she helped me pick a pair of dressy black jeans, NYDJ brand (which she no longer carries, now made overseas)…”Marilyn” style. I had big sticker shock for the $120 price tag, but the owner and my husband both agreed they looked great on me. They were more than twice the cost of any pants I’ve ever bought, but oh my - I have worn them so much! For a few years before retirement I wore them a lot to work. But also wear them ever so much for casual and casual-ish days too. I do have other pairs of black pants too, but no regrets on that purchase.
