For jeans, I usually wear Not Your Daughter Jeans. But I’ve found that the Gloria Vanderbilt jeans fit me exactly the same way. And the GV ones are way less costly. I have to wonder if they are actually made by the same company.
NYDJs come in a long length too. There are a number of styles, and I really like them all.
I have some GV jeans from Kohls that fit me nicely. (They were a great deal on clearance…. $11 for the black, $2.40 for the bright green summer one). But oh my, per my experience and the online reviews the sizing variation is crazy. Wonder if Kohls has some kind of cut rate manufacturing or something. Definitely hesitate to order them online, though it would be easy enough to return.
One of my superpowers is my ability to find smoking good deals on otherwise expensive stuff. My problem is I generally only apply that skill to household goods, gifts or grandkid “stuff”. This thread is going to help me expand that skill to clothes.
Coincidentally, I am wearing a pair of Old Navy jeans right now. We have an ON in the next town over, and I probably should look in there more often. I am often skeptical about how long their tops are going to hold up.
Ha. My DNA is frugal. BUT, in the last couple of years, I have really decided I need fewer better pieces. I am willing to spend $100-$150 on 3 or 4 pair of pants that fit me great, are classic enough to last for awhile and most importantly are versatile. Most of my other pant purchases would be $60 or under.
I do have a couple pair of their bermuda style shorts that I love. I’ll try the jeans, too!
I chaperoned a preschool field trip to a farm today. Naturally, I need the rest of the day in bed to recover. I’m going to be hitting up many of the online stores y’all have recommended. I already have a few things in my quince cart. Fingers crossed I will find some other treasures. It’s a good thing my DH doesn’t look at the credit card bill!
The NYDJ website has a filter and you can enter the inseam length that works for you. I hate buying jeans and then having to spend $$$ to have them hemmed.
I used to buy GAP jeans but they keep changing the fit and styles and adding more and more stretch (a little bit is fine). Last year we were visiting NM and I went into a shop in Gallup with a huge selection of jeans. I tried on a gazzillion and the Ariat ones fitted perfectly and were the right length. They have a lot on their website so could be worth a look (free shipping and returns if you sign up for their program).
I am 5’2”, and I was surprised that a pair of Regular sized NYDJ worked so well for me, even though wearing flats. Eventually realized that they are cropped length on taller women.
I’m looking at the Sezane website and I’m thinking of ordering a few things. Have you tried any of the sweaters? I like a few of the sweater dresses but I’m looking for a cardigan to wear as a top or a sweater to wear with a straight black knit midi length skirt. I’m trying to go for a look where I could wear it to a winter nice event. Or at least try to see if it works.
I have several sweaters! I have two of the Betty cardigans and one of the Basile. I would try the Betty with a black knit skirt - I have one that is black with white crochet trim. The Basile would be a bit too casual and bulky I think - not quite as polished. I bought a lacier one in Paris, more of a wrap style than a cardigan.
The clothing looks good but the company needs to seriously rethink how they market it online! So many pictures of how a particular piece can be styled, but most of the time those pictures do not show the details like length, width, etc. They need to have three good photos focusing on the product (front, side, and back) without the sexy poses and supplement with those fashion photos.
I have to believe that this thread has resulted in the same ads popping up on all our devices. I had never heard of Sezane before and a couple days ago I started seeing them on fb, IG and a couple other sites.
