I really shouldn't read any forums on this board other than this one.

owlice - thanks for remembering those espresso chocolate chunk brownies - I’ve been just dying to try them ever since you first mentioned them.

:: hands LIMOMOF2 an espresso chocolate chunk brownie ::

Would you like ice cream with that?

Thank you, owlice. And yes, please to the ice cream. Sounds delicious!

Great combo, isn’t it, LIMOMOF2? :)

Queen’s Mom, have you read Colleges That Change Lives? You might get some ideas from there. I read it and had my kid read one description of one college. Planting seeds, I am! (In reality, I’m probably more annoying him than planting seeds!!)

:: puts out bowls of peanut, plain, dark chocolate, and almond M&Ms ::

:: puts out a bowl of Reese’s Pieces for any extraterrestrials that might be about ::

I brought some caramel ribbon brownies and for something different, apple pie ice cream from the Amish area.

Best college food: Seems to me St. Olaf’s was supposed to have earned
raves on food? Anyone attend there or visit?

This morning I went on a nature walk with my sister. We saw one buck in
velvet, two chipmunks, three bullfrogs and a leopard frog and many birds. We
also watched some small catfish guarding their very tiny fry, about a hundred
fry.

Oh-- I must spend too much time in the city. I give. Are fry little baby catfish or what you do to them for dinner when you catch them? (ducking for cover and running with a brownie or two …)

Eak, so I ventured into the other forums and they don’t have food! I definatelly like the parents better. =P Good to know my brownies were a hit… so tonight I’ve brought along some oatmeal cookies that I think are very tasty. (Actually I made them with the variety of instant oatmeal packets no one in my house likes.) Plus, they are pretty healthy. Oatmeal, applesauce instead of butter, etc.

At this point cooking school sounds pretty good. Anyone have a good college suggestion for that, because med school doesn’t sound quite as appealing anymore.

ItalianBlonde, if you are willing to share, I’d love to have the recipe for your cheesecake brownies.

Applesauce instead of butter… I’ll have to try that sometime. I use the Quaker oatmeal cookie recipe that’s on the inside lid of the oatmeal containers. They offer another recipe on their website for oatmeal cookies, but it’s not nearly so tasty as the standard.

Back to school… I do not have a college suggestion for cooking school; I am sorry! Perhaps someone else will.

Keep med school in mind, however, as I think a doctor with a good grasp of nutrition AND good cooking could probably carve out a great career. “Dr. Blonde’s Book of Good Eats.” I can see it now!

Cooking school: Johnson and Wales, in Rhode Island. Really.

Guys, I’m trying to lose weight here, and you’re not helping.

I want to shed pounds too. Can we start a diet support thread?

I’m in on the diet thread!

great youdontsay!! Lets see if we can rustle up some more folks and then we’ll start a thread. Someone started a “man cave” thread, we’ll start the “chub scouts” thread! LOL

Oh, my. I was scared to open the man cave thread, but now I’m curious.

For those of you who want it: [Calorie Count Plus - Free, Intelligent, Online Dieting](http://caloriecount.about.com/)

Excellent information, calorie, weight, and nutrient tracking, and forums, too, and all free.

Man Cave: Now we can get rid of that old elk head in this thread’s attic.

And the ratty recliner, too.

Oooo…I forgot about the ratty recliner up there, lol. What else is up there?

There’s enough tools up there to build a new home. Not that he’ll ever get out of the ratty recliner long enough to use them!

Thunderstorms here today, no barbecueing. Would any of you like some
pasta/tuna/grape salad?
