How 'bout that collection of beer mugs won at carnivals and state fairs through the bachelor years?

Good idea. Is this box big enough for all those mugs?

Ready for some ice tea? Tiramisu?

while you’re at it, add all the hunting/fishing/tool catalogs that have been gathering dust beside the man-toilet…oops, thought I was still in the Man Cave. forgive me teeheehee

Just home from soccer…having a nice pinot grigio and a small multi grain light English muffin. Wish I had something better! Heading to Indianaplois for another soccer tourney on Friday…wish I could do Happy Hour on the way!

D2 has been very grouchy with camp, work and practice commitments. I’ll cheer her up when I let her know she needs to get crackin’ on her application which can be started on July 1st!!! ;)

Now that jym’s son is safe in Milwaukee, what needs our think tank today?

Who left these raspberry cinnamon rolls? Are they from today?

LOL cottonwood! I hope he made it safe and sound (but since the last we heard from him he was on the airport shuttle, short of an accident of a hijacking, I assume he made it). I will assume that it is because his cellphone battery was low that he hasn’t called to wish me a happy birthday (::: passes everyone a piece of double chocolate torte birthday cake with chocolate buttercream icing:::: )

Thanks, jym. Did you make this?

My son is housesitting…everything going OK. I suggested he teach the dogs tricks to surprise the owner, but he is not doing it.

D is leaving tomorrow for Paris, and S is leaving Saturday for London and points beyond. H and I are staying home, with plans for a couple of long weekends in NYC and DC. What’s wrong with this picture???

jym, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And thanks for sharing your cake! It’s delicious.

Booklady, on balance, I’m not sure anything’s too terribly wrong w that picture. (Then again, I’m the one with one in college, one in h.s., and one who just finished kindergarten. . . .) As long as you and your H get your turns before too long.

Harriet, you’re right. Once the eight consecutive years of tuition bills are paid, why, with what’s left we might even manage a whole week in Hoboken! :D

Happy birthday! And thanks for the cake.

I keep forgetting you have one in Kgn Harriet. Yikes. College class of 2024? Yowza.

Cottonwood, Harriet, youdontsay and booklady,

Glad you like the cake. Ther is no such thing as too much chocolate, I always say. No, I can’t claim credit for creating this yumm-fest. It hust appeared magically on the kitchen table.

Booklady-
Your kids are lucky to get to travel like that. If the stock market keeps dropping, Hoboken will sound like the lap of luxury

Did any of you watch “Hopkins” last night? That was a good show.

Mind if I take this last piece of birthday cake?

Hi again everyone. Glad you enjoyed the cake. Dealing with the crisis of the day yesterday. DS #2 totalled his car. All humans are fine. His car is not. Please pass me some double chocolate raspberry mousse ice cream.

Glad the humans are fine, jym! This is a very good reason for eating double chocolate raspberry mousse ice cream!

H and I are trying to decide on a movie to go see tonight. We’ll probably end up seeing “Get Smart”, though I’d actually like to see “Wall-E”.

^^ I heard both movies are good. timely.
We went out for a great dinenr withanothe couple also celebrating a birthday. My purse tipped over and my garage dooer opener, which I’d tossed int here, got left behind. Sigh. Have to shlep into town to retreive it tomorrow. Well, at least I know where it is. Oh, and the dessert there was yummy!! Mocha double chocolate cake and a cheesecake thing- I’d share the leftovers here. But… (no leftovers)

Get Smart was pretty funny, actually. Silly…but funny. Kind of a guilty pleasure.

Wish you had saved some dessert for us :grumble:

Good morning all…are you in the mood for chocolate dipped strawberries?

Beautiful weather today. The birds are feasting on ripe mulberries. Green

tomatoes are showing up. There is a lack of butterflies this year.

I’m going to share my crop of fresh figs with you fine folks (and all the alliteration that goes with that). We had so many on the tree this year the birds actually shared them.

Figs? I never had fresh figs right off the tree. When I was
growing up, we had small cherry trees. Usually picking all the
cherries got away from us. One year my Dad used a ladder and
got every single one. Later a mystified squirrel came by, looking
for the cherries he could have sworn were there! He climbed
through the tree, came down and searched the ground and back
into the tree. Over and over, that squirrel could not believe all
those cherries were gone.

I like these figs.
