Indiana University Bloomington Early Action for Fall 2025 Admission

Has anyone who applied mid-Oct not yet received a portal link? Daughter applied 10/17, transcripta uploaded 10/25, shows IU downloaded in common app, but still no portal info.

This is usually a misalignment of the email and portal from IU. Many tech reasons for this which don’t matter - reach out to admissions.

They gave the same notification dates as the admissions website - no insider info unfortunately!

This worked thank you! We wanted to make sure there were no documents missing and were able to confirm they have everything.

3.8uw/4.2w, 1320 SAT (second take, not superscored)

Serving a 1 year term on 2 subcommittees for the state dept. of health. County level chamber intern. 3 other leadership roles in business clubs and youth support organizations. Basic member roles in some other service/youth advocacy organizations. Won state twice and placed sixth in the nation once in a relatively well recognized organization for economic research projects. 4 years of varsity football, other JV and managerial roles in a few other sports.

In-state. Applied for finance. Submitted my petition for direct admission to Kelley 10/7. Fingers crossed! :crossed_fingers:

My understanding is that the petition to Kelley is only after you get a decision from Kelley. Not as a preemptive event.

No. Look at FAQs in the link below.

Please consider using this separate thread, so as to not make the main IU thread all about Kelley petitions.

Thanks for clarifying. I don’t recall that being the process when my son applied who just graduated from Kelley in May.

That is incorrect. If don’t meet direct admit criteria Kelley won’t even see application. Need to petition prior.

My daughter had a very strong MP1 senior year. She already applied EA back in early September. Do you recommend submitting her MP1 grades somehow? Would we send to our local admission rep? We are OOS.

My son’s school counselor offered to do this for any student who wanted first quarter grades sent. They sent them as they sent the official transcript (through Naviance). Our thought was that his grades showed continued high performance and improvement in one subject so why not send them.

How long does IU take to update the portal with receipt of documents? It has been 6+ weeks since we submitted the official high school transcript via Parchment. IU admissions acknowledged receipt of it but the IU portal still says missing?

I find that their portal very hard to comprehend too. My D25 tried to email admissions but no reply for 2 weeks.

My D23 is in a similar situation. Her transcript was sent in early October, her app was filed in mid-October, but the portal still shows it is missing. She emailed admissions mid-week last week and they replied within 24 hours saying that her transcript was received but that it will take a while to show in the portal due to the volume of transcripts they are dealing with. Can’t hurt to email them but my guess is that you are fine.

same here, application submitted 9/25, high school sent over transcript via scoir 10/16, emailed IU admissions and they acknowledged receipt of it before 11/1 deadline, but portal is still saying missing. They said 4-7 weeks delay for transcript update.

OOS with 3.6 GPA (unweighted) and 1540 SAT (not superscore). Private high school that does not do grade inflation. 5 APs by the time he graduates, 6 Honors classes. Two sport varsity athlete. Meaningful internship this past summer. Low GPA is primarily due to two years of low grades in foreign language. All A’s in STEM classes. Not a direct admit to Kelly because of GPA. Applied business exploratory, thinking he could try to get into Kelly once on campus. But would it be better to change to a business major now (which he can do) and then file a petition for Kelly? Any advice or thoughts?

If the high school can provide a transcript with weighted GPA (assuming it is >3.8), you can meet the GPA requirements for Kelley with it and be a direct admit.

Assuming the GPA is in fact a 3.6 - what is the downside to a petition? It’s a pretty compelling petition IMO.
