No. Our Admissions Officer told us they don’t need official scores unless matriculating.

Another data point. Daughter applied Tuesday afternoon (10/1) and received portal info on Friday morning (10/4).

My daughter has the EXACT same stats as your son. Literally to the number! 
We also just put “include scores” with application and it isn’t x’d off yet. She took the SAT today and said it felt like her best test yet so we might update the scores in a few weeks. I hope we all hear EARLIER rather than later. A nice acceptance as an early xmas present would be wonderful!!!
That’s funny! It’s weird that some have scores in the checklist and some never did (like us). Makes me slightly concerned, but it says his application is complete so hoping all is ok. And yes, fingers crossed for early Christmas presents!

Any other Kelley applicants see a change in their portal. S25 should be a direct admit. He applied 8/12. 32 ACT, 4.26 GPA, 1 HS. I noticed today that the school on the portal changed from Kelley to “pre-business”. His major is still listed.
Anyone else? Assuming things are just moving along but found the “pre-business” a tad concerning. But maybe it’s just an IU vs Kelley thing. @jefrobertson any thoughts? I believe this is a new portal, so might be completely different than prior years. Just want to make sure he doesn’t need to submit a petition.

Means initially they noted you applied to Kelley and now you are in admissions process for IUB. Then Kelley will act.

Question - my daughter is interested in applying pre-Business (does not qualify for direct admit to Kelley due to SAT). Is there anything in particular she needs to do on the application in selecting a major, or is she ok selecting the business major she would pursue were she eventually admitted to Kelley?
That is all you need to indicate. But you can always petition for kelley as the worst they can say is no.

So to clarify, the kids are first admitted to IUB and then Kelley will send a separate admissions letter? Or will it be clear from the initial acceptance letter that they are admitted to Kelley? (My student is in the same boat - has the direct admit stats for Kelley but portal says pre-business).
Sort of. You will be admitted to IUB first and then Kelley next in two separate steps. Kelley would like to align the notification of your IUB admission with Kelley because it’s confusing for people otherwise. Just depends on when IUB starts releasing decisions and whether Kelley processes the auto-admit fast enough. Last year IUB targeted decisions in December and then pivoted and released in late Nov which was earlier than Kelley was prepared.
And things are not always aligned online with the portal compared to the actual written notification. Often parents/students want perfect and colleges are rarely that in their communication.

Same thing noticed for my Son… He is eligible for Kelly DA but it showing as prebusiness in portal
You CANNOT be admitted into Kelley until you are admitted into the University. This is a critical point to understand. It does not matter if you are eligible for Kelley DA. You are prebusiness until the University admits you. It is possible the University will not admit you.
Kelley is a college within the University. University comes first.

Thanks for your insight. So the applicant might not need to wait till mid Jan as they put on the website? The website says before Jan 15. So, it could be Dec or even late Nov? My D25 is a DA to Kelley.
What is the deadline for my high school counselor to send in my letter of recommendation? For EA application? Thanks.
Likely Nov 1st - but they’re not needed and likely don’t impact.
