Good luck with ACE I try not to spend time on process or odds and in any way influencing. - go into process or not doesn’t matter what accept rate or process is.
My goal here is solely to share what I know on when or how IU and very often here Kelley operate. Is ACE worthwhile - meh. But high stat people like high stat only special things recognizing their high stats. And great for them. College is a business.
My kid is DA Kelley. Does anyone know how to apply to Kelley Business Honors? He applied to Hutton Honors College during Common App but no Kelley Business Honors application option though.
Bad idea to nudge Admissions for a decision unless you had applied before the EA deadline and still has not heard back. A number of applicants did not hear back by 1/15 but heard back the next day so do follow up if you are in this category.
Did you receive the email with the new date for decisions for International students? My son received one and it said decisions now begin Jan 15 until Feb 15. Personally, I wouldn’t email IU as they were clear in the email that decisions are postponed.
But they already told you they need another month. I didn’t realize. You writing won’t speed up an answer. They’ll likely just forward you that same note.
Same here. International. My D25 wrote them right before they sent out this email of the postponement. We wouldn’t try again but deep down, we are frustrated because they didn’t have a good reason or no reason not to give their decisions on time.
Just posting this if it helps shed light for others: In-state D applied 3.99 (unweighted), IB, Spanish Honors, Study Abroad (6 week summer), Multiple Gold and Silver Keys in Scholastic Writing and Art, Local Poetry and Creative Writing accolades. Accepted 1/15. Direct Admit to A&S. Applied Hutton, have not yet heard back.
Kelley Honors is applied towards the end of freshman year. They will look at grades for first two semesters and there is an application & interview during Spring semester… at least that was this past year.
Thanks! After I posted my question, I searched and learned that it was called Kelley ACE Program which is for entering Freshmen but by invitation-only. It will only accept fewer than 100 Kelley DA students. Guess my son will have to check his email to see whether he is invited. Thanks!
Does it make sense that in-state applicants hear first, followed by out of state, then international? Now Jan 21 and still no word (although we got an email telling us to wait until mid-Feb).
