Do you happen to know if you can switch back to business exploratory after the fact or transfer to Kelley sophomore year if you meet the requirements?
Great question - I have no idea.
In order to get admitted to Kelley they would need to take all the first business courses and not get lower than a B in all courses taken. No wothdrawls or incompletes either.
Understand the requirements - I think bc my son switched to economics from pre- business she was asking if he could go back to pre-business if he decided to take all the required Kelley classes and didnāt get below a B or drop a class.
A quick question. Our younger one got accepted 1/13 to Kelley DA. I assume they will hear re: merit scholarships in the next week or so. But they also seem to want them to sign up for an IU email (even before committing/enrolling)? Do they need to do this before being informed of scholarships? Or will they continue to use the original email of record (e.g., non-IU e-mail) to let them know if they received merit? Our older one is a Kelley jr., and received merit aid, but I honestly I donāt remember when or how they were notified! Thanks!
I believe that your student needs to sign up for an IU email in order to apply for scholarships (as well as for housing). My accepted student applied for his IU email and was then able to apply for scholarship.
Did you receive a confirmation after submitting change of major? My daughter did the same using the option in the portal but she did not receive any email acknowledging the request had been received.
No confirmation just an acceptance email a few days later.
But thatās only for applied other scholarships, right? My understanding was the Deanās Scholarship (and maybe some other merit ones) were automatically considered. At least, thatās how our older kidās was awarded. I know Hutton is separate (our younger one already applied). Iām just trying to figure out which email they send award notifications to.
That was my question, I am going to have my son reach out to his admissions officer to ask.
My DD was awarded a Deanās scholarship from the Office of Scholarship. She is a Kelley DA, but she has not heard from Kelley ACE Program or Kelley merit scholarship. Which scholarship did your student apply for using his IU email?
My D25 was also awarded a Deanās scholarship on December 23rd and only received an email invitation to apply for the Kelley ACE program today.
Updated: My DD had received email invitation to apply for the Kelley ACE program since Jan 9 but she forgot until I asked. Luckily, the dead line is Feb 26
Son was accepted pre business 12/13 after applying 11/1. Has anyone else been accepted but heard nothing on petition (he was 100+ higher on SAT but .1 under GPA but has 33 AP credits with 4 or 5 AP scores so far). We have heard nothing on merit. I havenāt really read of any of waivers being granted but everyone else seems to have gotten merit letters. Does no letter at this point mean no merit? I am not sure what to expect because the process seems to not be linear. I donāt want to bother the AOs since I know they are swamped but not sure how to read these tea leaves.
we are one of the later wave, applied in october, accepted kelley direct 1/14, have not heard anything on merit.
International students here.
Did you get the decision since jan 15?
Still no word re: international student. But again, the email my son received on Jan 16 said emails of admission will go out Jan 16 to mid February. His profile is complete so he is now practicing patience and crossing fingers and toes.
Any idea when the ones who sent in the deferred essay of intent will hear back? Do they just go into the regular decision pool?
Is the IU email only functional after the student has accepted their offer of admission? Some of the accepted student directions say to check IU email regularly, but my kidās doesnāt work (the Exchange Online link in One.IU). Kid has already created the computing account. Just a little confused about how to access the email, if he is even supposed to at this point. Thanks for any help or advice!
Kelley petitions would be shocking to be released pre-Feb 1, but it is pretty common for Kelley to admit a very small group on this year Feb 3-6th whom they want at DA days. Most will hear at waitlist in mid-March. The APs will be irrelevant.
The question isnāt so much did you get no merit itās did you receive an email from IU at all following admission and/or in your portal is it blank on financial aid. If you received a post-admission email and it said nothing about aid - then you probably received no aid. If you did not receive an email then itās sitting in some email folder. I donāt really now if aid from December has populated in the portal but it should soon if not already - thatās another place to look.
There are no tea leaves.
