Indiana University Bloomington Early Action for Fall 2025 Admission

Why will APs be irrelevant? Kelley review process states that they will only consider the 2 essay responses, SAT/ACT scores and transcripts. So, if they wont consider the APs on the transcripts, how else will they determine the rigor.

S25 deferred for Prebusiness… After being upset by the delay this causes for Kelley petition review, he did send the essay of intent in a couple of days of deferral. I think it will be along with regular decision … may be sooner or closer to deadline. He did mention in his deferral essay that he has already submitted his Kelley review petition essays, had a zoom interview with Kelley admission officer highlighting his interest in IU! We thought as IU process and Kelley review seem to be disconnected, it might speed up review of the deferral. Good luck.

They should include AP scores. At least Kelley is better than MSU Broad which doesn’t take test scores (SAT/ACT) in consideration of direct admit to Broad.

Not sure. We are OOS and no email yet about Kelley ACE invitation since his DA acceptance on 1/16. (Yep, he was in that small group of EA applicants who didn’t hear on 1/15.)

Because APs and scores are relevant only to your high school offerings. They will evaluate APs with the data they have on your high school. Taking 33 credits at one and scoring 4s and 5s isn’t the same as taking 10 at another and scoring a 3. It’s about rigor in the context of your high school not objective quantity or score success. They are not looking oh did this person get a 5 - they are looking based on historical success at IU from students from that high school - is that strong rigor. And by the time it hits Kelley AOs that has already been scored. They are all good applicants for petition.

Mine got an email today saying he received a $7k merit scholarship. He hasn’t applied (but plans to) for any merit aid yet.

I just got the Dean’s Scholarship, $8,000/year. OOS student from Kansas. How good of a scholarship is this for an OOS student who applied to Kelley?

Received Dean’s Scholarship - $11,500 ($46,000- Total for 4 Years)

IU targets 10-20% of costs to provide in aid - so at $55k that’s $5k-$11ish-K OOS. Some will get it all in Dean’s - others in a combination. I haven’t seen many non-FASA $18k per year but who knows. $12k is roughly the max most will receive in Dean’s if they aren’t getting anything elsewhere. Once you get to that $12k a year number either you are attending or not in their algorithm, no reason to give you $5-10 more K it doesn’t swing the yield needle except maybe at Luddy. You need $30k yearly to do that for most other colleges at IUB.

So he was awarded another $10k per year Deans on top of the $7k. I thinks this is amazing. We are out of state.

$7k is usually HHSP. Very specific program. Not lessening that it’s great. But that’s identified as a very specific recipient not solely about stats for anyone reading in context.

Our daughter got $6k per year. OOS test optional. She’s received more elsewhere but being test optional, we’ll take it! Waiting on Kelley petition and Hutton Honors college.

Son received $6000 per year.

My daughter got accepted on 1/15 but we have not heard anything about merit….did people receive an email after the admission?

got accepted on 1/14 and got the scholarship email today if this helps.
