Have I missed a thread on this? Looked back a few pages and didn’t see anything .

So who has downloaded and share your thoughts, positives and negatives.

I have a iPhone 4 and an iPad 2 - wondering if I should go for it and download. My D updated her 4 and so far is not having any issue. I’m afraid to make the move! Did clear out some memory to be able to accommodate the update.

Also wondering if you have tried the iTunes Radio? I’m very interested in the possibility of subscribing to iTunes Match (I know, confused yet?!) for $24.99/year to have all my music available on all my devices - but again am wondering how these programs will perform on my 4 and iPad 2.

I made the leap yesterday on iphone4 after making sure everything was backed up. All went seamlessly. I like it quite a bit so far. I’ve played around with iTunes radio some today and I’m liking that too. Like you I’m considering iTunes match but haven’t quite decided on that one.
Given that all went well on my phone I’ll probably update my ipad2 to ios7 tonight.

D’s HS took off the controls tonight so they could update their ipad 2. No issues so far.

I’m a person who is a couple of stages behind to be sure someone else is dealing with the bugs. My iphone 4 can wait. Everything works fine the way it is.

I updated my iPhone 4S and iPad mini - no issues; I did the iPad first. I prefer the interface but haven’t explored a lot of the additional features. Make sure to back up. D initially lost her contacts but was able to retrieve them.

I have ios7 on my iPhone 5, but my wife hasn’t updated her iPhone yet- does anyone know why when she texts me, my son also gets the text (he has an iPhone 4 with the new ios7 too)? This only started when my son and I got iOS 7.

The white interface drains your battery like no other. I inverted it and it looks cool and saved battery life. I love the font and the overall interface. The transitions between scrolling, screens, opening/closing apps are much smoother and nicer. I like the colors and the overall new sleek look it has and IMHO a really good change of things (esp since I have owned 3 iPhones so far, one from each generation).

I personally love it overall, except it is a bit buggy (mostly laggy, apps closing, slow response at times) but as a person who works with technology, I expect it haha. The bugs do not bug me that much. :)

@PsychoDad10: I can’t see how that possibly even happens unless it is a group text and she doesn’t realize it. It doesn’t seem technical to me unless she physically sent a text to your DS’s number as well?? confused.

I updated my ipad 3 first, then I did my iphone 5 today.
I especially love some of the updates to apps, like the Kindle application.
Im over the swooping in & out though, I may have to jailbreak it if they dont come up with an option to turn it off.

I updated my iPhone 5 and my iPad 2 yesterday-back up your devices before attempting anything and it goes faster if you go through iTunes rather than trying the “over the air” method (and you won’t have to worry about not having enough space either). But, having done this, I’m not sure that I should have. First, the interface is just plain ugly and it’s heavily text dependent (sure, you click on an ugly icon on an ugly grey background and then you are stuck looking at text that tells you about what you just clicked on!). But the worst thing is that the jerk who came up with the wonderful idea of accessing the Control Center by swiping up from the bottom didn’t notice that is IMPOSSIBLE if you have a rugged case, such as an Otterbox, on your phone because you need to get your finger down below the “set” of icons at the very bottom. How did they not see that before launch? I’m one of those who drops my phone in weird places like parking lots, theatres, the driveway, etc, so using a simple bumper around the edges doesn’t work for me- I need something that practically bounces! And, because I have RA, an iPhone has always been easy for me to use, which is no longer the case since this update requires some pretty fine motor motions.
Otherwise, iOS7 has some pretty nice options now: new ringtones and finally, the ability to block callers. I called Apple’s Help Line about the case problem, at which time a whole cadre of “phone assistance” folks began to panic when they too, discovered that they couldn’t use the “swipe up” feature with their hefty cases either, so I am hopeful that the issue will be addressed in the near future. Meanwhile, I’ll continue to be try to find more hidden features that will tilt the scale more into the “positive” side.

Thanks mezzo’smama, I couldn’t figure out why I was having problems swiping on my iPhone. Duh, it’s the case. I haven’t had too many problems doing what I need to do by going into the apps but I haven’t played around with io7 too much yet.

my s/o updated my iphone last night, and it took me 1/2 hour this morning to guess my password. So, do I have to type in PW every time I want to use phone? Seems a pain

Can someone in REALLY simple terms give me a step by step (if possible) of backing up my iPad - I get iTunes panic everytime I hook my phone or iPad up to my computer to back up and forget exactly how to do it.

Do I just want to sync or is there more to it than that? And then how to put everything back on (or do I only have to put back on if something goes wrong during the downloading process of the update???)

Even if you have a link to a YouTube or an article that simplifies backing up I (and I’m guessing others) would really appreciate it!

I went to the Apple Store to play around with it yesterday. I’m one of those people who doesn’t like change, especially if it ain’t broke.

It’s very bright. I held my own phone with the iOS 5 next to it, and my phone looked dark and dreary next to it. But the brightness seemed to hurt my eyes. I’m just going to have to get used to it, because I’m buying an iPhone 5s as soon as I can get one without waiting in line.

I’m looking forward to having Siri, but that’s so iPhone 4s ago. But I don’t know what’s so great about iOS 7. Sure, the bright colors match the colored 5c phones, but I’m so over bright colors. Maybe the younger generation likes them. I have to keep reminding myself I am no longer in the demographic that businesses market to.
