İs it Hard to Study

thank you for your answers.you really helped me alot.i will think about Illinois’ engineering programs.but the problem is,a university with 4 year tuition is 90.000$ for an international student.can i earn that money after graduate,in how many years?does it cost to do ??

I think that you might get better answers if you go to the college majors section of cc and check out the engineering section. There are people there with lots of engineering advise.

ok thank you for your advise

but no one is helping me in engineering majors’ forum.help me:
the problem is,a university with 4 year tuition is 90.000$ for an international student.can i earn that money after graduate,in how many years?does it cost to do ??

can anyone answer that question ?

Yes u can earn. In 2 yrs most probably, or mayb even in 1 yr. depends on ur job.

ronty i ve just heard about co-op program in universities. How many months do you work in a year?and how much money do they give you for a month?

Some Co-ops (Like Cornell’s Comp Engg Co-op) pays around 2500-4000$ per month.

how many months do you work in a year in co-op program ?

can any1 answer that question

Depends on the school - usually 3 to 4 (kind of like the time you are off at summer although not all co ops are during the summer.)
I also disagree that you can earn enough in 1 or 2 years to pay off 90,000 to 100,000 in loans. You may graduate an engineer and make $50,000 per year but you will also have taxes and food and rent and expenses. Check out the finaid calculator:
http://www.finaid.org/calculators/loanpayments.phtml

To repay $100,000 in two years your payment would be nearly $4500 per month!

But after graduate an engineer can earn 4500$ in a company in his first year.cant he ?
we can work one semester or can we work on summer too?(i mean 6 months in a year)
and the most important question is:
DO the international students eligible for co-ops??

I would think so but cannot say for sure, it likely depends on the school - here is the website for Purdue’s engineering coop:

http://www.engr.iupui.edu/intern/internorcoop.shtml

check it out, email them if you have questions. Then search for other college coops too. You have internet access, do some research on affordable engineering schools and check if they coop programs. Don’t just zero in on one, you should have several in mind.

do international students eligible for Loan ?if yes how can i find more information about that?cuz you right i cant pay 100000$ in two years.but i can pay in 5 or 10 years.

ok i will do some research on it thank you.

International Students are eligible for Loan in US provided u can get a US Co-signer for that.

International Students are eligible for Co-op programs in most of the Universities.

Engineers from top schools do get placed in top non-engineering companies like Consultancies, Investment Banking, etc. which pays a very high starting salary, around 80-100k per yr. There are some HIGH paying Engineering jobs too. I never said that one can pay a loan of 90-100k in 1 or 2 yr. I said that one can earn that much in 1-2 yr.

citibank has some loans for international students that do not require a US co-signer. You have to repay the loan in about 12 years, BUT you end up paying a heck lot since the interest rate is 9.5%!

ronty you helped a lot to me.i have an aunt in U.S.she may be a co-signer to me.are we in the same positions with citizens to find a job in U.S after graduate.2 man whose abilities and GPA are the same(but one of two is non-us citizen)Are their salaries the same or us citizen earn more than non-citizen ?

US citizens are preferred for the job. Also, an Intl student will need a company which is ready to sponsor a working VISA (like H1b) for that student.
Salaries are always dependant upon merit of the student.
I m glad that I m able to help you. :)

oh god!i’m gonna cry:)i ve searched about studying in u.s for 1 year.but i’ve never read a bad result like yours:D
ronty what do you recommend me?without a co-signer 9.5% interest rate!! in citibank.plz lets calculate together
1)wanna study i co-op program and how much money can i earn an help to pay my tuition in one year?
2)i need 100.000$ for 4 year.100000$ - (total 4 year coop salaies what i earn) =???
3)i am asking cuz i’ll take loan from citibank but i dont know how much i need money from there ??helllp please
