It’s definitely tougher for males at my school. Girls, if anything, can settle for going to prom with a big group of chicks. Guys, however, look awkward if they go on their own…or in a group of guys…It’s a society type of issue…
Also, maybe this is a southern thing, but the guy asks the girl. always. Oh and I’m a chick.

Prom is definitely harder for girls.

Guys can ask any girl whenever he wants and plan it out and such, but girls have to wonder anxiously every day “omg am i gonna get asked” etc etc.

Oh funny story, at this school in my region, Promposals during school were just recently banned. One kid asked this really popular attractive girl by setting up a lunch table full of $100 worth of chocolates, flowers, teddy bears. He got rejected, then stayed home for 1 week. Parents contacted school and you know the rest of the story.

No way. It’s always harder on whoever asks. Most girls at my school get asked, so for many its not a matter of “if” but “when”. Askers have to deal with rejection as well.

Honestly, I never thought people get rejected in regards to prom, mainly because I always thought that it would be mutually agreed upon beforehand to be asked. I didn’t know people ask girls out of the blue without even talking to them about it first or asking the chicks friends if she is willing to go with the guy.

That’s mostly true, but sometimes it’s not agreed upon beforehand.

lol 609represent what school do you go to? promposals were banned at my school also, and my area code happens to be 609…

^Looks like we are talking about the same school :)

WWP?

yeah lol. ■■■ now you can see my info. north or south?

My ex goes to North. I go to SB. This is super weird.

oh lol i was about to say if you went to wwp it would be awks

I simply think it is whatever person in the situation who asks to be the date. Honestly, I don’t know about your school, but my friends are all going huge on their ask-outsations FOR TURNABOUT! I’m talking elaborate schemes here. I can only imagine what’s going to happen at prom.

-------------------------------------------If it is to be, it is up to me…

Yeah, she always used to say awks, and I would tell her I don’t see any oxen around here. I swear you WPPers overuse that word.

But yeah, I am jelly of kids that go there :p

nah, dude wwp gives so much work. i wish i went to sb, i would dominate there. at wwp, i’m just a run of the mill kid.

Aw HELL no I would never wanna go to WPP seems like madd competition. Also too many asians lol. We still got mad indians over here though ahaha

i think prom is way harder for a girl just for the simple fact of BUGGING if you will be asked or not. it’s a lot of anxiety hahah but the madness is what’s really part of it i guess. im not stressed about a prom dress or makeup or hair because that’s the easyyy stufff

Anyway, back to the thread topic.

What do you guys think about taking or going with people from other schools?

lol yeah south brunswick is like little india haha

Prom is hard for anyone who’s ugly. Male of female, if you’re ugly or some other form of social pariah, you’re SOL.

Prom’s kinda useless anyway. I don’t get what it’s all about, just an excuse to blow all of mommy and daddy’s money, I guess.

The guys. Where I live everyone is so rich that asking people to prom is a HUGE ordeal. One guy took a girl up in a plane to ask her to prom.

I think it’s harder for guys here because guys have to ask here. At our school, every dance is either girl’s choice or boy’s choice, and you cannot break that rule ever. Anyhow, guys have to ask for prom, and Utah has this weird tradition where you can’t just ask a person to prom, you have to do something interesting, like a scavenger hunt, or a message hidden in a bag of dog food. And then if you get rejected, it’s even worse because of all the work you put into it. I’ve heard of people spending more money asking than on the date itself.
