IU Kelley Petition Tracker 2025

Last year, there were some test optional kids who got in, but had very good EC’s and 3.8-3.99 GPA. However, some also got in with 1420-1590 SAT with a 3.40-3.70 GPA. It heavily depends on if you “fit in” with Kelley standards or not, which is quite unfortunate. You’d be better taking your talents to a program that is less competitive and where professors will give you more attention rather than teaching a larger group.

I think when people talk about Kelley being “intense” they are not only talking about the classes but also how indoctrinated the “Kelley” brand is. It definitely feels like an entity of it’s own separate than IU. For kids who are really into being a business student it is really great, for others maybe not. I encourage people to look beyond the rankings and make a final decision based on fit and culture.

My son has a 4.0 GPA at an IB School (in Canada we use averages and he has a 94% for Year 11 and 12). He is Head Ambassador, Head of House, Captain of the Junior Varsity Hockey Team, part-time job since Year 9, started his own copywriting business in 2024 and has made $6800, and has over 100hr community service. He’s been accepted to Babson (but declined as it’s too small and too narrow-minded) U of Miami Herbert with Presidential Scholarship, several Canadian business schools, and WL at Ross and BC.
He was accepted to pre-business at IU with scholarship in early Dec.
He is STILL waiting for Kelley!!
He clearly isn’t what they’re looking for to build their 2029 class and that’s ok! It’s an important life lesson!

Thx! I know some have received acceptances to date, but was just wondering if any rejections were sent to date or if all rejections would come on April 14.

This explains a lot. Didn’t think of it this way, but now that you mentioned it, it makes a lot of sense. Kelley is very intentional about their ranking. While in this years’ P&Q rankings they are not in “top-10,” they are still able to maintain a respectable overall rank of #23. The student satisfaction / academic-experience ranks among highest (where Wharton ranks #41.. lol), the reason for which is explained in your post and that’s what drives the overall ranking. I don’t think they do as well across other factors like admission standard where Kelley ranks # 40.

In many other top schools, students don’t really care about the rankings (nothing to prove), and tend to be more critical.

Overall these rankings are largely meaningless.

Ugh!
I really thought today could be the day the kids hear from Kelly.

Everyone got a mail about jlcc?

Yes, my child received it.

Wait is killing me and week away from the deadline. Does this mean we are getting rejection? Was it similar case last year?

Hang in there! No one on this chat knows the answer, sure we can guess but no one knows for certain - we don’t work in admissions!
Stay positive and hang in there  You will do great things.

Agree! Has anyone heard anything in the past week? Admission or rejection? And did the jlcc e-mail mean anything or did everyone who applied for Kelley receive one?

What is this? I swear talking to my son is impossible!

Have not heard anything since January when my son was admitted to Pre-Bus!
He emailed admissions and asked about decision dates as we need to apply for a student Visa (and it takes months!) and they responded promptly that he will hear by April 14.

We may never hear back. Some people from last years thread said they were supposed to receive a response by April 14th, but never got it so they committed elsewhere.

Also as @Jesse2021 mentioned last year, Its encouraged, if you commit elsewhere (what I plan on doing if still pre-business) and get Kelley DA, please let them know you won’t be attending. That will open up spots for those on the WL or some trying to get in through RR

We received the learning community email.

We are headed to a red carpet day this Friday. I honestly don’t think many will hear back direct admit results based on how brutal this college app season has been.

If my son likes it this Friday he will probably go, I’m in the camp that if he doesn’t get Bs it’s probably not a good fit and he can change majors. He will have to lock in but I have faith it will work out!

Unfortunate with the All B’s considering most Business schools only require a 3.0 GPA to automatically get direct admission sophomore year (including B-s)

I just had a meeting with one of the admissions officers about some questions on Kelley. He told me they will most likely release all of the review requests around 6pm on April 14. They are probably waiting for people to decline their DA offer.
