I believe that God has to know what is going to happen at every instant because he’s GOD…however that doesnt mean that he controls everything. We still have free will to do whatever we want…i know it doesnt make sense but…thats where the FAITH part comes in.

jyankees-

hey, let’s not get into a fight.

I would never start preaching to someone who i don’t even know. i mean c’mon… i’m not a preacher (duh. lol)

i respect you in all, .so please respect other people’s beliefs…
why do you think that was a PREACH to specifically you in the first place?? lol

hardly redundant…

athiests dont understand or even give religion the time of day…

and they dont want to. they cant accept religion. there is an automatic put down.

atheism sounds like a religion to me haha

yourbfwantsmee:

If god exists then it would have to be almighty, since it would have to be above all dimensions to create the universe. Ultimately, god would be able to see everything that ever has and ever will be. So, prayer is useless because god would have already seen what you are praying for and changed it before god created you, the world, and the universe.

"athiests dont understand or even give religion the time of day…

and they dont want to. they cant accept religion. there is an automatic put down."

Of course they can’t accept religion because they don’t believe in it. That, however, does not make them intolerant. I am a pantheist, but my mother is a Catholic does that mean I hate her?

No.

God knows the ultimate plan and how everything works out…but becaue he gave people free will it doesnt exactly work like clockwork. God wants to be accepted and loved by everyone, but people have to accept him. Prayer is a means to communicate with God and tell him what you want and praise Him for His doing…God listens to some prayers and He doesnt answer others it depends on how answering the prayer fits in with His overall plan.

Jyankees, I am not saying your view is not correct. Who am I to know what is correct and incorrect. Religion is too touchy of an issue to be discussing ever, especially on an internet forum. Let it go. Just let it go. You do not need to be right here. I just don’t want any crap on this forum. We were a happy family of people freaked out about college. Don’t get worked up about something you do not believe exists.

qwilde: thats nonsense, ill tell you why

you’re assuming that God cant change his “mind”. I’m sure that if someone prayed hard enough with true faith then God would answer those prayers.

jae6forever, I never thought you were attempting to preach to me (how could you have known I didn’t believe in God)…your post just seemed sort of preachy. I was not trying to attack you personally, I just am annoyed by religious people who project their views upon others. If that was not your intent then I apologize.

god doesnt have to be that entity. it could just be the spirit, the humanity, the strength in all of us. it could just be the time that heals, the love that supports, the joy that makes life worth living. it doesnt have to be an entity, it doesnt have to be called god. it could just be everything/anything you’ve ever felt in your life.

idk where we came from or anything but i rly dont feel like spending time thinking about it when i know ill never know!

something ive been wondering… did man create “god”?

^probably /* asdf */

No, as a christian im going to have to say that God created man.

But God is an entity, he is the supreme being.

No, as a christian im going to have to say that God created man.

But God is an entity, he is the supreme being.

so then why cant ppl accept that men wrote all the scriptures?

Hey venkater I’m about as full-fledged an atheist as they come and I’m not intolerant of other people’s beliefs…? lol I do understand that many are though. They get a superiority high. Alot of qwilde’s/Jyanks’ original comments are evidence to that. Especially qwilde’s question to crouton. “Afraid that I’m right!?” Sigh. Grow up please.

Quaker? Ehh. On an interesting note, my admissions counselor said, “We are the FIGHTING quakers. If you can laugh at that, you belong here.” I hope that’s true.

I have no problem with what the OP said, I didn’t find it preachy or obnoxious, but if you’re posting something that sensitive, you should be ready to hear the other side (who you may have offended/bothered…as a religious person, I still hate how everyone assumes only the religious can be offended by the athiest and not vice versa).

According to Voltaire, if God didn’t exist, man would necessarily HAVE to create him. Does he exist? Possibly, but NOBODY knows this. I choose not to believe because it fits better with my life experiences and goals.

Men did write the scriptures, but they were inspired by God.

Fighting Quakers. Only at Penn
