I've decided to let it go

If you dont believe in God…how can you possibly explain the infinite size of the universe…or the complex reactions in our body that go into simplest tasks…if you dont believe in God, how can you explain the motivation to do good…

because god created our minds?
…right.

hoodhopper…

POUND IT

jyankees- it’s ok~

good luck!

We all want to be quakers. Stop fighting. Make love, not war (god I hate hippies). Religion, AA, prestige of a college. These should all be banned topics from CC.

um…tiny thing called science, idk

the motivation to do good is instilled by society and laws. God is surely more complex than the universe, if he created it. So–who created God?

If the Universe MUST have a creator because it’s SO complex, why doesn’t God need to have a creator?

i like this topic…

Interesting thread. I wasn’t going to comment, but I think I have to now.

“I hate atheists because they are not understanding and not tolerant of others beliefs. Most people in this country believe in God. Most believe that God has a plan for us all.”

Says who? I don’t believe in God; I think that makes me an athiest. But I’m both tolerant and understanding of other beliefs. I don’t preach my athiesm, I generally avoid talking about it, and I definitely don’t proudly display my beliefs (or non-beliefs) to the world. And what is with this “most people” statement? Since when was anything legitimized by being part of the majority? It seems like you (whoever wrote that) are the non-tolerant one.

Anyway, the OP was just trying to give us some hope in this stressful time. It’s really unnecessary to start all this conflict. Just respect people for what they believe in.

thats what im saying!!
Chicken or the egg, people

YES frivolous things, I LOVE your majority comment!!!

hey religious debates sure beat the hell out of waiting for thursday…

Wow, somehow I knew that by the time I finished typing all that my post would be completely obsolete.

Jyankees…thats the thing…God is above the barriers of the human mind. It only makes sense for us to understand that something has to be created by someone else, but God is above that. If God had to be created then he has to die too, right? no. This is the only logic that humans understand so thats why we question his existence. However the fact that there is no statistical/material proof of God is all the more reason to have faith because there are so many things which lead to proving that THERE IS A GOD

Haha has anyone ever heard the “turtles all the way down” story?? I think it kind of applies here…

nah it kinda just put a lid on it though.

Why does God have to be above that? I say the universe is above that. I win because I said so…See, I just gave as much evidence as you!

no, what is it?

was that sarcastic, JyankeesSS2

Paro, let’s just accept that that dude with 10 arms controls the thing that will get us into Penn.
