Wow. I did not expect that especially since we got offered honors we expected at least a little merit.

OOS, Honors admission. Last weekend, DD got a Two Year Room Award that pays for housing. $6300/year for the two years. My understanding is that department scholarships have not been awarded.

To those that recieved merit, where in the portal did you find it? Or was it only in the email?
it was an email and then if you look in Madison Scholarships link it was listed there.
Just got our aid email. A whole $0 in merit even though offered honors. And well the standard $5500 unsubsidized loan for us. Being OOS makes this hard.

I see the preliminary financial aid and it says $0 for merit.
We got $0 as well 
I wonder if this is truly preliminary and merit hasn’t gone out yet??!?
Feels like it is final. I believe last week they finalized the merit awards.

My son got nothing as well, OOS not honors. I guess I’m not shocked but seeing that final price tag (vs the $44k listed on the website) sure stings! Sadly, JMU is still less than the other OOS state schools he applied to (UCONN and Penn State).
In the same boat but doesn’t that final price tag include items that are not billed to the student, like transportation and other misc items?

In reality, I compare to tuition and then each school gets applied roughly the same amount of money for room and board. This is how we make our decision because many schools hide the costs in Low room and board rates so I apply $15k to all
