I’m not sure. JT just said they were polling online. As someone else mentioned above, she is using the Facebook page to do lots of communication. You could post there asking. Have fun!

thanks, londonb!

If you can’t make it to a concert, their Live at the Troubador special is on PBS tonight.

Thanks for the info would have missed it-didn’t know it would be on.

Just returned from the concert–thanks to this thread, I knew to buy tickets in January and we had fifth row floor seats. It was beyond fantastic–literally brought tears to my eyes. Both of them sounded wonderful–voice quality virtually undiminished–and they looked like they were having a ball. SO glad I went and SO sad it’s over.

Hi dg5052,

I didn’t see you there! We were in the 10th row (4 of us). Was there a second encore? We left after the first, to my chagrin, to avoid traffic. Concert was WONDERFUL!

There WAS a second encore–they did a lovely duet of “You’ve Got a Friend”–and unbelievably, traffic getting out of that mammoth parking lot was not bad at all. Didn’t see you either–but ran into a number of people we knew, including our rabbi.

We saw “you’ve got a friend”. I thought that was the first encore. They left-- then came back. The left and came back again??
And you are right- traffic in was much worse than out.

I saw the PBS special. Fantastic. Both of them. Those who have seen them live…had to be amazing.

dstark–sounds great…was trying to find the concert on PBS, can you list the link?

I’ll also be seeing them soon and looking forward to it. On a mundane matter, I’m wondering whether they started relatively on time and without a starting act?

A BIG thank you to CC members who brought this concert to my attention. I saw the Columbus, Ohio concert last Sunday and it was INCREDIBLE!!!

James Taylor is 62 and Carole King is 68, yet both sang and performed like they did in their 20’s. For those few hours, I felt like I was 18 again. Music IS magical…and timeless.

My D found this article recently printed in the New York Times. After reading it, I want to see the concert all over again!

Oh…and I saw on their website that 16 new dates have been added to the tour. If they are now coming near you, this is a concert you don’t want to miss!

Odyssey -Yes, the concert did start “relatively” on time (maybe 10 minutes late) and lasted for almost 3 hours - with a small intermission. There is no opening act - just two fantastic performers sharing the stage. The chemistry and mutual respect between them was ever present throughout the entire evening.

I was at the Columbus concert too, RoselawnMom - it was truly amazing. H, who hates crowds and always wants to leave before the last encore to beat the traffic, didn’t complain about staying until the very end.

Loved the online song selection: “Chains” recorded by The Cookies in 1962 and covered by the Beatles in 1963 - who knew Carole King wrote that?! But darn if I can remember the two encore songs…?

Re: PBS special. As they say, check your local listings It’s not airing in in my area until sometime next week.

In Atlanta also, the show started maybe 10 minutes late. We were worried because there was so much traffic getting to the venue that it took 30 minutes longer than it should have. As it happened, we sat down about 5 minutes before the show started. To those of you who have upcoming tickets, you are in for a treat!

I thought it started about 20 after 8, dg5052, because the traffic was so bad and people were having a tough time getting in. Well worth the wait though!!

Thanks for info on start time. We were unprepared to sit through 2 opening acts for the last concert we attended. So I’m glad it is just the two of them for this concert.

We were at the Atlanta show. I don’t believe I’ve ever been in tears this much at a concert! Took me quite by surprise. The emotion of their songs was such a soundtrack for our lives and it was a remarkable thing to relive.

What a great show and a fantastic crowd. It was the best time I’ve had at a concert in quite awhile. Loved the way the stage was set up…even for those of us with cheaper seats. The sound quality was superb, the musicianship impressive. Although we’ve seen James Taylor a couple of times previously, I must say we enjoyed him most in this tour. But we’ve never seen Carole King. She was completely outstanding. And together, well, as one critic has said, the concert is much more than the “sum of its parts”.

I am SO glad we went. Awesome.
