The last time a king’s brother became too much of a public embarrassment, he was executed by being drowned in a barrel of madeira wine.* So just saying, y’know, there’s some interesting precedent here.

*I know, I know, probably not true, and probably just a rumor spread to make Clarence’s death seem utterly non-heroic. But c’mon, go ahead and do it for the bit, okay?

I wouldn’t be happy if I was a victim - but they did acquire the evidence from the Epstein stuff.

Now can they connect it to - I helped you - and you paid me back with underage or forced sex girls?

“Ex Prince Andrew allegedly sent confidential trade reports to Epstein in 2010. At the time, he was serving as Britain’s special envoy for international trade.” from Fox News

I would guess this is the tip of a very deep iceberg of people who supplied Epstein with information that he then leveraged to gain more information to gather more influential people into his network. Not everyone may have visited the island or been involved in the abuse, but that doesn’t mean they weren’t doing things that were illegal, or at least unethical.

I don’t think they need to tie it together. There’s plenty of illegal behavior to go around and get him on.

Hopefully - i imagine the victims would like to see people answer for these crimes, not other crimes.

At this point, I think the victims would like these rich, powerful folks get ANY punishment—the more the better!

Not really a laughing matter, but I appreciate the headline writer’s callback to his lie in a TV interview. Clever.

Years before they were convicted sex offenders, Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell used his wealth to gain access to a prestigious boarding school for young artists in Michigan, using a rental lodge Epstein donated to the school as a base from which to recruit some of their earliest victims, according to Department of Justice records and former campus administrators.

Epstein is an alumni of Interlochen’s summer music program and was major donor to the school.

I’m just continually amazed at all he is connected to. It’s like never ending. What pops up next - the NY Yankees or Knicks?

He constantly try to bring rich people into the mix. I saw something that laid out emails trying to get Hermes CEO Axel Dumas into his group. Dumas through PA politely declined all invitations to meet Epstein.

So some declined but a lot didn’t.

People didn’t/don’t go to Interlochen unless they have real talent. A good friend of mine from HS went there for a few summers, but she wouldn’t have gone in 1967 when Epstein went.

So, good for Epstein for having been a good bassoonist, and how unsurprising it is years later that he tried to parlay that relationship into something scuzzie.

That’s what it feels like to me too….on the other hand it might be Europe’s way of telling DJT that the walls are closing in.

My thoughts on Epstein:

  1. I think we should be focusing on people who committed crimes; people who are sleazy can face social oprobrium but they shouldn’t be put in the same bucket as those who raped children, shared state secrets etc.
  2. I think it is more likely than not that some girls were murdered. A sociopath who acts with impunity, and who treats people as disposable could well have ordered the ultimate disposal. One of the survivors believes girls were murdered (Maria Farmer interview on Molly Jong Fast’s podcast). Would explain why so many survivors are so frightened. Plus the New Mexico allegations.
