Rutter was really off tonight.
Yeah he was. Missed 3 daily doubles where he bet everything he had. But they start over at zeros tomorrow night.
No…I meant that’s all the money between those three?
Seems very low!

Ken had $63,400. James had $63,200. Brad got the second final question wrong (bet everything) and only had $10,400 carryover from first game in the match. Either of Ken’s or James’ totals would have won many of the tournament of champions over the years (at least to my recollection). Ken could have had a lot more but he knew he bet enough so James couldn’t catch him as long as Ken got the final question right.
Do you have a favorite to win the whole thing? I think at this point, for me, it would be James, Ken, Brad.
That was really fun to watch. I didn’t even understand what some of the questions meant!
Love Jeopardy. Was surprised I got many questions right (and many wrong), but for those triple rhymes and before, during & afters, I have to pause and think for a minute! I just can’t think as fast as is required. So while I love James and am impressed by Ken, I’m rooting for Brad. Especially since he said he thought his recall was slower during the Alex interview. Oh, I’m feeling old!
Brad saying his recall was slower is like Lebron James saying he has lost a step.
I don’t think I knew any of the answers tonight, and I’m way too slow in coming up with the wrong one!
And Brad is younger than Ken . Ken oldest, then Brad (both in 40’s), then James in his thirties. So, Brad needs to step it up and speed up his “recall.” !
Ken has said that some people say he is always a Bradsmaid, never a Brad. I am sure he was very happy to win a match against Brad (and James). Though if Brad ends up winning the tournament, the Bradsmaid statements will increase. Ken was impressive tonight (all of 45 years old and washed up – LOL).
Brad got 4 of the 6 daily doubles tonight and missed 3 of them. Ken got the other 2 and got both right (winning $8,600 on one). James didn’t get a daily double tonight. In his regular season run, James built up big leads by picking high dollar answers early, finding daily doubles and betting big on them. Tonight he did not have that chance.
I expected James to have the edge on the buzzer, but Ken clearly did tonight. It’s surprising that Brad ended up hitting the most Daily Doubles and the fewest amount of firsts-on-buzzer. The odds were against James tonight.

It’s rather exhausting! ‘Regular’ Jeopardy is on here at 6 and the this ABC tourney is 7 to 8. That’s a lot of thinking for me although I was surprised I knew a lot of the answers. Not Shakespeare.
They are actually playing in points and not $$.
I read that James is hosting Watch Parties in Las Vegas to raise money for charities. That would be fun.
Apologies for misspeaking— they are winning points, not $ in the tournament, but the overall winner gets, IIRC, $1M. But last night the total points across the two games of the top 2 players was only 200. Very tight!
I liked those triplet rhymes; but in no way could come up with the answer in time. Our family watched it; and we’d throw out answers when we occasionally knew some. It was fun. I’m on team James for now. .
Alex did say points at the beginning of yesterday’s show. But I always think of Jeopardy in terms of dollars. In other tournaments, contestants do not keep “money” won in quarter and semi final games. They just advance to the next round. In finals of tournaments, the prizes for 1st, 2d and 3rd are often minimums such that you get more if you exceed the minimum. Would seem odd to say its a 1000 point clue rather than $1000 clue. All semantics though.
Winner of the tournament gets $1 million. Other two contestants get $250,000 each.
If James had gotten any of the daily doubles, the outcome would’ve been different last night. I was happy to see Ken beat the 2 of them, at least once.
I can’t believe Ken missed the Elvis question.
