Junioritis, Class of 2012

It’s annoying that people actually think this way, and it’s really common.

I’m applying to a lot of selective schools. If I get in, they’ll say “it’s only because you’re black.” Well I thought maybe because I’m 6th in my class sure helps.

lolz
I mean that I say that I am 95% black and 5% Japanese. I love that culture so much that I got myself “blooded” (I really just rubbed wrists) with a Japanese girl in m class and then I became Japanese (lolz).
Every time when someone asks what I am I say part black and part Japanese.

LOLZ

I just started watching the vid. It’s tooooo much for me. lolz

Awww man… I hate it when I miss an AA rant… :frowning: What’s going on here? Do I need to go in on a thread?

^^CPU are people starting this stupidity with you now?
You’re only a junior. Tell them to lay off.

Ohh gotcha

CPU- Haters gonna hate. Plus they’re just jealous you’re awesome. (Btw I’m 6th in my class too!!!)

Haters gonna hate - 3 words to live by, lol.

-heads to UW board-

^Marine,
share the link.

No they haven’t yet. But when i told a girl where I was applying, she said “you’re really smart, and your black so you should get in.”
Excuse me?
In college i don’t want to go to an undiversified school. Even if it’s an all black school (reason why I took Spelman off.)

Why do I work hard? I’ll get in with crappy grades because I’m a minority, and a female, right?

It’s so annoying. I’m not telling anyone at my school where I’m applying or where I get accepted. The day after graduation I’ll tell everyone where I’m going.

Actually, I’ll most likely post a Facebook status about where I get accepted to (only if it’s one of my favorites) :)

EDIT: huskies- we’re twins  hahaha

For real, lol.

It’s blowing up over there, everyone is receiving acceptance letters. meaning there will be angry, stubborn people .___.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-washington/1104425-why-i-rejected-2.html</a></p>

I read that thread this morning and shrugged it off.
It seems like OP got into UCLA. LOL why is he complaining?

Maybe his UW application sucked and his UCLA app didn’t. I don’t understand why a group of high schoolers think they’re fit to judge who deserves to get into X school and who doesn’t. Sheesh.

And for the record… I made the mistake of telling some seniors I was applying to USC. Reactions? Same as CPU’s: “You’re smart, and mixed. You’ll get in for sure!” …yup, because I definitely haven’t been working my ass off to get where I am today…

Sorry I didn’t know that youtube could be linked
[YouTube - Vlog #4: Asians in the Library - UCLA Girl (Alexandra Wallace) going wild on Asians](<a href=“Vlog #4: Asians in the Library - UCLA Girl (Alexandra Wallace) going wild on Asians - YouTube”>Vlog #4: Asians in the Library - UCLA Girl (Alexandra Wallace) going wild on Asians - YouTube)

@CPU:  Yep! Good job btw!! It feels good to know our hard work is going to be recognized at graduation and when we get into colleges.

I know…they are probably stressing about the $$ factor of UCLA though. I’m only going to go to an OOS school like USC if I get adequate scholarship money which is really tough to get. My family’s income will get me no FA but it’s still going to be a challenge paying 50k a year obviously…
That’s ridiculous. People don’t realize that AA isn’t the only reason people get into schools. And from what I hear AA isn’t as helpful as people think it is?

Ghuskies- hey you too! i don’t want to drop though :frowning: Yale publishes the top six students in their newspaper  picture and everything! Next year I’m kicking butt. At least first semester. I want colleges to see 6th or higher. I’m not gonna slack off, I’ll just be relaxed after April 1 :)

I know this sounds cheesy but… I CAN’T WAIT TO GO DORM ACCESSORY SHOPPING :)

EDIT: it’s a proven fact that white women benefit most from AA

My family makes ~80k for 6 people, so I need all the $$$ I can get.

And I’m really indifferent on the subject of AA (and many other things, lol). Probably because it marginally benefits me (3/8, whoop whoop), but I don’t see what the big fuss is about. Obviously if you’re not fit for the school, then why should they accept you?
Just because someone is a URM doesn’t automatically mean they’re going to get accepted to a school.
I’m worrying my ass off about colleges, yet people think the minute I hit ‘submit’ I’ll be accepted. -____-

Marine- the sad thing is, colleges (with the exception of top tiers with good FA regardless) don’t care that your family has 6 people. All they see is 80k.

They treat us like robots. Parents have bills to pay, kids to feed, and buy other NECESSITIES. they don’t care.

Idk why I’m applying to Rutgers and UMass. Even with FA and the new England scholarship to UMass, they’re more expensive than any of the 60k schools.

^
wait how is Umass more than a $60k school?

what price are you looking at?

Yea, I know CPU. It sucks. :(

I heard USC has good financial aid though. Maybe I’m wrong.
Hopefully not -____-

For UMass I’d pay in state because of the new England scholarship program, so 31k. But I’m OOS, so that = no financial aid. Even if UMass was my favorite, I can go to MIT, Yale, Cornell, Wellesley, Smith, and RPI for 10k or less with NO loans.

ahhh, true. Okay
I get it now.

Darn it. I should have worked harder for those tope 20 schools. lolz it’s way late now.

It’s really gonna suck when I get rejected from Stanford.

My mom already told all her friends at work I was applying -____- ■■■■■. So embarrassing.

I NEED them. They’re good because I want to go to grad school, good education, etc. But MONEY means everything. I’m not transferring into one because that’s hard to do and I’ll get less money as a transfer (I think.)

The only early school I care about is MIT. I want to get a freaking tube in the mail.
