Junioritis, Class of 2012

Lol how many Math and science teacher recs do I need from MIT?

Alright soooo Memphis just lost thanks to refs (as usual). Oh well lol there goes my bracket -____- ■■■■■.

I guess now I can start my homework.

i think it’s one for math and one for science.

that’s standard college requirements for a math/science/engineering prospective

i leave for a few hours and i miss 2 whole pages ! lol
do you guys think it’ll be a good idea to take french over the summer at DCC (the community college) ? in nigeria last year, french was mandatory so now i have 3 spanish creds and 1 only french cred :frowning: and i love languages ! what do you think ?

and black if you want <2000 all you have to do is write your name and leave ! :stuck_out_tongue: haha jkjk i understand.

I want to learn Japanese and English/Writing at my local CC. But I have no clue how much it costs.

and I would say go for it!! Learning about something you love is great!

How did you go about looking stuff up for your CC? Did you call? I feel as if it would be sketchy for me to call.

@CPU: Are you using the Yates/Moore whatever statistics book? We’re on Chapter 14 so we’re like a week from finishing the book. We power through chapters averaging 1-2 weeks on some of them o_o But I like moving fast. Nice job on the test!! I hate fire drills when I’m taking tests though…one of my fears hahaha

@ada: good job on all your tests

I have a random q (again!) Have any of you been nominated to represent your school at a national leaders conference in DC? It’s that expensive, week long conference in the summer where you have to dress up and just…idk tour the city and learn about the gov? I’ve been nominated 3 times and at first my parents thought it was a big deal but I learned it’s really just an expensive mini-camp that will NOT help you get into college or anything lol. They send me huge packets of info a lot…

Speaking of SAT scores. I’m shooting for 2100+ too. HOpefully I broke 2000 on the march one.

@black: well my schools lets you take some of their classes at school and im taking college pre-calc so im already registered. but you could go on their website and see if you can request a brochure. if not, call and ask. and check with your guidance counselor. but be quick if you want summer courses because they fill up quickly

I have been for the past two years.
But I think it’s a lie. I dunno, it just costs so much. I’m not going to do it anyway. I wanted to attend the journalism one but it costs a lot as well.

I really want to find a cheap (or free) summer program or class that I can attend for writing, journalism or just College prep help. But I can never find any good ones in MA or RI.

^Yah i’ll do that. It sounds like a good idea.

is not taking the SAT
Aiming for a 30+ on the ACT though :D

@ghuskies: OMG i just got my 3rd one today in the mail ! they wanted me to do the one on medicine . honestly i dont know how i could even think of paying for that and then put it on my app and THEN apply for FA lol

ghuskies-- yeah i get those letters in the mail for DC ALL the time. it’s sketchy. and umm… idk what textbook we use lol it’s small and almost a square. the questions are numbered like 9.26 (chapter 9, 26th question)

adababy-- take the class!!!

black- it’s okay to call or go up there. at mine, it’s free through a hgih school program

yours are FREE ?? lucky ! haha we still have to pay . i just realized that when i graduate i’ll have 8 more credits than are required (i think) ! hooray for overachievers !

i have more credits than required.
everyone does, if they continue to take 4 years of everything (at my school.)

kids at my school are kinda lazy . well some . some of them have 3 straight free periods ! since my school does allow kids going home before 7th period, they just take free periods. its sad. thats just a big waste of the 7000 tuition.

^
You pay money to go to your school?!?!?

I get a private school education for free, hooray for charters!! lolz

I’m looking at my CC’s high school programs and it’s looking good.

you PAY for your school!?

i would never pay for my child’s education unless it was college (no offense to you or your family.)

i want to save as much as i can for their college. they can accel at a regular public school or a magnet school. when i graduate from college i plan on looking at the area too (like neighborhood, proximity to stores, and of course schools for my kids.)

on the first note: our school lets only seniors do that, but you have to be 18 to sign yourself out (i’ll be 17.5 when i graduate.) next year i will have 2 free periods of study hall and one period every other day for another study hall (ill have physics labs the other days this period.)

if there’s another class open, i don’t think i’ll take it hahaha. i HOPE all goes well, i don’t want problems with my schedule. i’ll have 4 APs, two of which require extreme essay writing and reading. blahh =/ but i wanna double major in psych/cognitive science, so the ap psych isn’t bad.

it seems like i’m slacking. the valedictorian is taking 6 APs next year. i dont think he will survive. he doesnt know how to do his own work. he is absent EVERY test/quiz. if he tries that next year… he’ll fall behind and fail.

the bad guys always finish first.

EDIT: just kidding. we have 7 periods a day, three of my APs and the one honors class take up one period (so thats 4) but physics takes up two (that’s six) :open_mouth: so only one period of study hall everyday. blahhh… my classes better work out or i’m throwing a tantrum in the principal’s office.

…I feel so behind ahaha.

My school is so mediocre… the only good thing we have is IB. And even that sucks.

But yea, I agree: I wouldn’t pay for my child’s education aside from college either lol.

^
Yah my IB program is not so great as well. We do not get tons of choices.

Yup that’s the one! I hate how the problems are organized…or disorganized haha. Are you guys going to have time for review?

Is it even noteworthy to mention you were nominated on apps? Is it rare to get invited? Seemed really sketchy to me…

Sent from my iPhone using CC

We get “choice”. But by end of freshman year… if you’re Diploma, you know what you’re taking.

Over 30 IB Courses offered.

I know my Chem teacher will look at me if I get a 7 and say, “How did this Derogatory word get a 7?”
