What happened to my post! ???
Not coming back till after Easter, but do make sure you visit Snowbasin. Go through the mountains, not through SLC.

What DID happen to your previous post, kelowna?? Thats weird. Sorry we will miss you. Maybe next time By the way, its snowing like crazy right now!

Enjoy! Is it powder? :)

^Yes. That’s the only type of snow we get in Park City. I didn’t understand there was a difference until I saw Pennsylvania/New Jersey snow.

Actually its that funny stuff that comes down like little round pellets. It has a name, which I cannot recall (starts with a D, maybe) but there must be at least 6" and its still coming down

Sherpa -we have to get together one day.
Do you have any more HS kids or are you “all done” ???

Not many posters from our state here…

Kelowna - Sure, that would be fun.

DD is a HS junior.

The snow turned to beautiful, fluffy flakes by the end of the day, and it was still coming down tonight! Conditions should be incredible tomorrow!

Great snow for mountains, poor US National Soccer team who played in it last night, against Mexico. US won, but insane that it wasn’t postponed.
What an adventure you are having!

^^^ Oops!! Didn’t hear about the soccer game, southjerseychessmom! There were other weird weather issues in SLC on Tuesday, including a dust storm and a wildfire that closed the highway. Yesterday was the big snow dump (about a foot at PC) and its snowing again tonight! Didn’t someone say this is APRIL?!?!?

Update:

We are expecting another spring storm tonight. Possibly another foot or more on top of the 18" we got the past few days. Today it was beautiful, and the conditions wonderful!! Sherpa and kelowna, you are lucky to live here!! I picked up a Snowbasin brochure, Kelowna. It looks beautiful!

Tomorrow we head to The Canyons. I have been reading your recommendations, Poto Mom, and reading the trail map to put it all together. You and sherpa both recommended the Lookout Cabin for lunch. Sounds wonderful. Thanks again, everyone!

Reporting back in, with major thanks to everyone (especially sherpa and Potomom) for all the tips. Followed your ski suggestions at The Canyons and had fun at the Spring Gruv too!!). No one broke anything this time (YAY!!) and with the exception of a few relatively minor snafus (e.g. older s packed all his toiletries in my duffle by mistake, and he is off for 3 weeks to Australia today-- from California, and I am now back east with all his toiletries - oops) the trip was perfect!! The ski conditions were unbelievable!! Best they hve had all season, according to many employees at the mountain. The first day or 2 werent the best, and we had 80 mph winds on Tues, but it absolutely dumped snow every day thereafter. The resort is showing 41" of snow in the last 72 hours! Note to self: get in better shape for powder skiing next time! That is very hard work, but a TON of fun!

Proud mary-- heal quickly and see if you can get out there! It was beautiful! And thanks again to all for the helpful pointers!

Thanks for the good wishes jym! Surgery is next month and I should be good to go next ski season!

Sounds like you had a great trip. I’ve taken good notes and can’t wait to get out to Utah.

Good luck with your surgery, proudmary!

Glad the trip went well and, especially, that no bones were broken!

Great trip Jym, thanks for sharing, enjoyed reading about it all.

Thanks, SouthJerseyChessMom. I did see video of the soccer game on the news after you mentioned it. Those girls must have FROZEN out there, playing in the snow. But the US beat Mexico!

JMY626 - So how was your ski trip? Looks like you had the awesome snow week. Three feet or something stupid like that . . . Jealous!

OOPS. Sorry I see your post now. I had just been reading my daily ski report from Canyons and was thinking about you. Glad you had fun. I live in SC and it’s 93 degrees here and covered with pollen. I’d love to be skiing.

It was INCREDIBLE, POTO mom. I went to the local ski shop yesterday to exchange the new goggles we bought (lenses kept popping out) and they said Park City got ANOTHER 2 FEET of snow right after we left. I am also inthe south, dealing with the heat (put ont he A/C yesterday) and the pollen!! The cars are all green!

I have strong memories of the ski trip–as I still feel thje pain in my knees and quads everytime I get up!!
