Anyone else who has been to Guatemala have tips for culture there, drinking the water, living customs, other info?
We’re flying into Guatemala City and driving to Panajachel.

Do not drink tap water and do not drink beverages with ice unless you are in a hotel or restaurant that caters to tourists. Avoid street food and raw vegetables unless, once again, you’re in a hotel or restaurant that caters to tourists.
Guatemalans are friendly but in areas such as Panajachel can grow weary of rowdy tourists who are there to primarily to party. Avoid getting too drunk and putting yourself in a situation where someone could be looking for a fight or other bad interaction.
A little Spanish, a big smile, politeness and a positive attitude go a long way.
