Thanks @tofabforyou ! I don’t remember the exact date I submitted it, but I remember that I did have a little less than a week before the dec 6th deadline.
So probably dec 1st or 2nd. Lol
Thanks! @tofabforyou I submitted in November, I think on the day of the original deadline.
@dejaleida I think it means community based organizations (I googled it). Maybe you could choose “other” for these activities? It would probably be best to email Iris Early if you’re concerned about it.
Does anyone know what the acceptance rates and how many applied to LEDA were last year?
@dallascowboys1 On another CC thread, people were saying that around 70 applicants advance to the interview, and from there 60-61 scholars are chosen. As for how many people actually apply to the program… no clue. I read on another thread somewhere that there’s usually a pool of over 2000 applicants, but i’m not sure how factual that is. An acceptance rate of less than 3% seems EXTREMELY harsh, but I mean, I guess it’s possible.
@hilobanana wow, 3% is pretty scary. Do you know how many advance to round II?
@dallascowboys1 No idea, but I would assume that the most people get cut from round 1. I don’t think Round II is as difficult to pass because whereas Round I is pretty pliable because of the essays and recommendation, Round II pretty straightforward. Tax return info, proof of citizenship, grades, and test scores… Probably wouldn’t narrow the competition down TOO much. And if CC is correct, 60/70 of those who move on to interviews are selected, which is a pretty high admit rate. Again, this is just what I think, none of this is for sure.
Hi! I had also applied to LEDA and I am starting to get extremely nervous because I have not received an email yet saying I have made it to part two of the admissions process. Does anybody know whether or not they will send out a rejection email or will they just leave me hanging?? Do you think they are still accepting people to round two?? I more than anything want to attend this program and I hope to see you all very soon at Princeton! Thank you!!
In the webinar that they did this year for Cohort 11, they said that this year they are really trying to accept 100 applicants this year. This was also said to be more than they ever have in past years.
I’m in the same boat that you are in. I haven’t received an email either and I’m really getting nervous. They did say that they are sending the emails on a rolling basis; nevertheless, I’m not sure whether we will get a rejection email also.
@adam16, good luck to you!! Thanks for the info and be sure to keep us updated if you receive any emails regarding acceptance at LEDA! Good luck!
adam is right, this year will have 100, although its technically not the most out of previous cohorts. i wouldnt worry too much for now. last year some people were just receiving their round 2 stuff while others already made it into round 3
@vvumbo do you know about what time the last people should be notified of their advancement?
last year, people got acceptances all the way up to the end of april, while some got accepted in the beginning of march
I just received my email informing me that I’ve made it to round 2. Woot woot! This round is a lot simpler seeming than the first, which is good. I wonder what percent of applicants make it to round 2? And then what percentage of those make it to round 3? And what percent make it all the way??
Whatever the number, I hope and pray that I’m among them. I love what this program is about and what it’s striving to do!!
I’m in the IB program and its supposed to help with university entry, but this program seems life changing and opportunity creating.
My fingers aren’t crossed, but my hands together as I trust God to help me.
Good fortune to everyone! Hope we all make it
.
What is the timeframe for when we will be informed on whether or not we’ve made it to the interview phase and if we made it all the way?
@quasmay congrats! Also, LEDA has made it very clear that they are reviewing applications on a rolling basis. As @vvumbo posted, scholars for cohort 11 are being accepted anytime between early march and late April.
Hello everyone,
I am so proud of the students that received an acceptance to the second round. I haven't received any email or notification from my fluid account about round two. You guys seem to have received the email on the same day, and I didn't. Does this mean that I didn't get accepted at all??
