LEDA Scholars 2015

I am getting so panicky and nervous because I haven’t received any email from Leda. Should I email or call them?

Hello all, i just received my email 2 days ago. I read all of your comments and I hope we all make it through!! My main question is, What exactly is CBO Affiliation and how does it benefit us getting into the program?

@jaomillenium- Did you get accepted?

@jaomillenium, I suggest asking your guidance counselor because I think CBO affiliation has to do with the type of high school you attend. If your guidance counselor doesn’t know, I would email Iris Early. Good luck!

@jaomillenium‌ , CBO=Community Based Organization; example: College Possible.

@BioChemistryNerd Don’t be nervous! Remember, they’re still looking through the applications. It’s a rolling admissions process. Good things come to those who are patient :smiley: Good luck!

Hey guys!

I’m so proud of everyone who’s made it to the second round! You TRULY deserve this, and now you know it. For those who haven’t, don’t lose hope. It’s a rolling basis, remember? I haven’t recieved mine either, but don’t forget: fortitude.

Thank you for that @publiusx, I’ve been trying to remain calm with everyday that goes by and I haven’t received the email.

@adam16 It’s true; it’s almost excruciating to have to endure the wait. But I guess that’s why they call patience a virtue. If anything, it helps to have people to talk to, such as the people on this thread. I know that reading the posts here is what helps me. Being discouraged won’t speed up the time; thinking negatively will only deceive us. Or, at least, that’s how I see it. Just keep up your excellent work (-: I’ll see you at Princeton.

Thank you all for the encouragement and inspiration words of being patient. I hope that we all get accepted, because we all deserve this opportunity especially if we have been hardworking throughout these academic years in high school.

Thank you as well (-:
Guys, LEDA said that admittance to round two will be determined by Feburary 13th! There’s still hope and a rolling basis. Be excited and confident! I know that, personally, the Lord’s will be done. I hope you all the best!

I know it’s pretty soon, but has anyone heard anything about the Interview phase? I do not want to get my hopes up too much, but I’m so excited I even got into Part 2! Does anyone have an idea when they might be informing us if we moved on, once again?

@dejaleida I’m excited too! I submitted my part II stuff over two weeks ago and they really didn’t mention in the emails when we would be notified about interviews, so I’ve pretty much been checking my email every day, hoping for some good news.

Aloha @dejalaida. I am a LEDA Scholar and I just want to let you know that having that PSAT score will not hurt your admission. My score is lower than that, and I still made it into the program. I think what’s really important for every application—including LEDA and your future college application—is that you show a great character. Quality compromises quantity. Stop Worrying about your score; I had that issue during LEDA and after the summer institute. Trust me, LEDA Cohort always have a diverse pool of scholars—mainly on scores!

Congrats to everyone that has been accpeted!!! I was so nervous but I’ve also been accepted to round two!!! I’m so anxious and excited!! @thecynicalasian @Kjulep18‌ What is LEDA looking for in round 2? Is your finacial state a strong identifier, or are grades more important? How do you all pick from this point?

Congrats to everyone again and i hope to see yall this summer!

Aloha @eraofcat, I don’t really know what LEDA wants for the second round; however, I know one thing: a horrible PSAT score can’t guarantee your rejection. I think grades are the most important for LEDA. High-achieving students mean hard worker and determined! Financial State: I’m not really sure. I think LEDA is looking for high-achieving students who needs financial support to get them into the school they deserve to be matriculated in! I wish you luck! Be passionate about it!
