Laying on the couch and listening to birds calling outside the window

Walking in the woods with my two dogs and watching them run like the wind, now that it’s finally spring.

Having 19-year-old Middle Son, the one I almost strangled last year, cooking dinner for the whole family on a regular basis - and he cleans up afterwards! It’s a miracle.

Having family who truly loves unconditionally–bliss!

Big things: all my kids are now happily married. Small things…just spending quiet time with my DH doing the everyday things we do. That peaceful time in the morning enjoying the first cup of coffee; and, next week, taking our 5 year old grandson (birthday is tomorrow) to Disney World for a week. Actually, I do try to consciously appreciate and cherish every day—every moment—particularly as some that I love most dearly can no longer do this…

Listening to music.

Today I sat in my Adirondack rocker on my deck and fell asleep. Nice.

Can identify with cats, wine, especially on a Friday night when I don’t to work the next day, and any water view. Also, nothing gives me more pleasure than watching one of the kids perform. This stopped after all kids graduated until S reconnected with the local community theater. Now we get to watch again. Just bought tickets today to see S as a lead in another play.

Long, large family dinners

A sincere hug from one of my boys. A nap with two pretty dogs on top of me. Rock climbing and a smooth landing. Pomegranates, mangos, and of course…a glass of good red wine!

A Sunday afternoon nap when it’s raining outside, with a cat draped across my knees.

Once in a while when we are walking somewhere, my 16 year old son will take my hand or put his arm around me. Doesn’t happen all that often, but when it does I feel a sense of well being.

Talking to my dog and watching him turn his head as if he is really trying to listen and understand…

Taking my dog to the dog park everyday is a necessity but it is very grounding.

Having one of the boys call and ask us how we are .

Morning coffee and newspaper - before anyone else in my house is awake.

Waking up to my pup snuggled in tight against me, morning coffee on the patio, fresh herbs from my patio garden, my husband walking in the door after a long commute(the drive scares me), having both my kids home at the same time, walking in to my newly renovated kitchen(big pleasure!)

Morning coffee in my bathrobe, the NY Times online edition, and Beck’s latest album spinning on the turntable.

My watch band fitting just right and it ticking.
Window open and the curtains lightly billowing up from a breeze.
White cotton socks not too tight.
A piece of watermelon candy.
Hearing one of my favorite songs on the radio, just random and then another one right after that!
Washing my car and it being oh! so clean for me.

I don’t drink coffee or wine or even soda so really small pieces of ice in my water when its really hot out. And for a long, long time we had 8 pets, 5 doggies, 2 kitties and 1 bunny. They have all now passed on (tearing up that rainbow bridge) and I do miss the purring and the cuddling. Settling for the squirrels now running around my attic! Pretty bad when I start naming them.

I do love picking up shells at the beach and great hot dog especially if its at a baseball game.

Kat

Having that Friday night wine right now. That really works after a day like today.
