London Olympics 2012 - SPOILER ALERT

Drat that rain. The Raonic/Tsonga match is stopped in the third set.

I hope this Murray match ends quickly so we can see Roddick/Djokovic.

""“Last split … as in the last 50 meters… Ye’s swam the last 50 meters of the race in 28.93 seconds. Ryan Lochte, the men’s 400 IM champion, swam his final length in 29.10 seconds…”"

-It was explained very well by an Olympic MD. That only means that she was deliberately holding back a lot. I have no question in my mind that this 16 yo was drugged with some sophisticated whatever that will not be detected. If she was holding and then zoomed faster than man who won 400 IM, she was told to do so. She dropped 5 sec. from her best time and she is only 16, she is not even fully developed. Phelps did not even do weight training at 15. I feel that we were cheated again, and I have no littlest doubt about it.

Lochte also finished his entire race 23 seconds before she did.

^Well, again, 23 sec. is too small difference between vey buffed up youg male and a 16 y o girl. Very, very sad story. I bet, we will never know…the facts

The 15yr old Lithuanian girl doesnt seem to be getting the same scrutiny for her surprising win in the 100breast. She was adorable, I hope she is clean.

It’s pointless to argue, with people who are convinced that Chinese are cheaters.

Here is a video of Ye Shiwen winning 200 IM at 2011 World Championship, in almost the same fashion, with a blistering finish on the last free style leg, when she was 15.

At the 2010 Asian Games, Ye Shiwen, age 14, won the 400 IM in 4:33.79, which is almost good enough for a bronze medal at this Olympics.

23 seconds is a HUGE difference in race times.

What are the world record times for these events in the mens and womens divisions?

"The 15yr old Lithuanian girl doesnt seem to be getting the same scrutiny for her surprising win in the 100breast. She was adorable, I hope she is clean. "
-She looked very real deal. I hope I am right.
They all get tested. I am sure though, that with their history, Chinese have develpe something much more sophisticated than before. Yes, lots of proof that she has been drugged for a while. Andagain, she dropped 5 sec. This huge drop is not possible with combo of finishing that strong, it does not happen in swimming.

Don’t criticize the Chinese for anything suspicious! The accusations will start flying at you (and from the same people). We were down this exact same road (with more evidence of cheating) with the famous allegedly underage gymnasts. (I just looked this up to see what finally happened with that–the 2008 gymnasts were cleared, but the investigation discovered that a Chinese gymnast in 2000 had a falsified age, and the Chinese bronze medal for team was strippped and given to the US team–10 years after the event.)

It’s pointless to argue that the Chinese are not cheaters since the Chinese actually are cheaters.

I will frame this one in my office.

I don’t like any cheaters. It’s obvious, however, that some people are extremely sensitive about suggestions that any Chinese person may have cheated.

If I find out that an American athlete has cheated, I will be angry–at the cheater.

Same here. I can’t stand cheating. Which is why I’m not a Lance Armstrong fan and don’t like cycling at all.

Unfortunately, the Chinese have been caught cheating. That’s their choice but also their consequences.

Is this recent enough? You probably don’t even know because the media didn’t hype it up.

I doubt you’d view the US team with the same pair of dark glasses though.

The swimmers’ podium outfits are horrible. Drab boring gray? With black pants and those green shoes? Why couldn’t they have been a snappy red/white/blue?

Cheating is cheating is cheating Sam Lee. Is there anyone who is claiming that Dunn is not a cheater?

zoosermom,

Use your word choice carefully. By “the Chinese”, you are seemingly pointing to a large mass. Will you use “the Americans” the same way, given that we have had a few, not just one or two, American athletes cheating before?

zoosermom,

It’s clear you are not interested in engaging a civilized debate. I provided that link to show there’s a recent indicent assoicated with the US T&F when xiggi was saying all that were distant past. You didn’t even read our discussion and just incite like an immature teenage

There are so many unsupported accusations in your messages that I wouldn’t even bother… Please take a look at the records posted in # 457.
