So I got one today at Nordstroms. I went to Macy’s first to see if they had anything which would be an acceptable substitute–no. Then into Coach, which I almost considered, but I really didn’t want “C’s” all over. Then I walked into Nordstrom–voila–too easy.
And my daughter just got one in Paris earlier this week, on sale…
Thank you, ladies.

Thank you, CC! I ordered a Longchamp Tote from their design-your-own website for my mom’s 80th birthday and she LOVES it! She already uses Longchamp and likes it because of how lightweight it is, but this one was made just for her in a size and shape that you can’t purchase here.

Reviving this thread to say I received an early Valentine’s Day gift today. I got the LC tote in the graphite color. I already love it. Not as much as my I love my husband, but a lot.

I was totally ignorant of the Longchamp Tote until I saw this thread. My D did her January term in Morocco, and found a knockoff for $7. I was so proud of myself that I knew what it was (and now I even know what color ‘bilberry’ is). Such an education!

Do you know what is really helpful about the tote?

It is the perfect size in which to stuff a mail order purchase that arrived in your mailbox and that you would like to just integrate into your current wardrobe or your collection of beauty products. :)

wnp, bummer - it would not work for me. Our mailman leaves bigger stuff on my doorstep, and DH already figured that out. We come and go through the garage doors, so the front door does not get much action, but every evening DH would open the front door and check the porch “just in case there is a package in there”. LOL.

I am saving my lilac tote for warmer days, but I could have used one this weekend in a darker color. Bluefly had a bunch of Longchamp totes, but I’m cautious about that site since my fiasco with a counterfeit Gucci purse (which was supposed to be a gift!) that Bluefly sent me.

I felt so guilty after buying a Longchamps large travel tote that its still sitting in the kitchen in the bag. I LOVE it!! I haven’t seen the print anywhere else…black and white print of the Longchamps horse/animal whatever it is. I’m very frugal but I just HAD to have it!! You guys are making me feel better!

Gourmetmom, awwwww… I saw that tote IRL at Nordstrom and really wanted one (I think I even mentioned that on this thread). I was sad and happy at the same time when it sold out (because I could no longer think about getting one), but now you are saying that I can get one at NM… I’m in deep trouble. :)

BunsenBurner, I can’t believe that Bluefly sold you a counterfeit purse! I have used that site a few times and liked it. I’ll be more careful now.

I scored a Longchamps handbag on Ebay several months ago, new w/o tags, for less than $40 including shipping. It retails for over $400:

I got a ripoff bilberry colored Longchamp from China a few months ago. It’s not too bad of a replica…the leather is fake but it’s a pretty good simulation. I have a hard time paying full price for a bag when most of it’s nylon (JPK nylon bags were big here last summer…I found one that is an excellent replica at Marshalls for under $20).

They are pretty useful, though…hopefully the fake leather holds up until I have enough money to buy a real one :)

oh no! If and when I splurge, do I go for bilberry, or the Tree of Life? I saw that in NM the other day, but didn’t check out price. The white would be pretty summer bag

I just got the John Hardy silver hoop earrings from NM, as a gift.

I’d like to thank you once again for bringing this to the main page…for me to stare at just long enough to check online that…yes, that bilberry tote is at nordstroms right on DHs way home from work. Just one little call and it’s sitting in Customer Service waiting for him to pick up!

Urrgghh! Thanks a lot for this little detour! ;)

You guys have been driving me nuts with this thread! I finally caved and ordered a Longchamp tote, which just arrived a few minutes ago. Yes, indeedy, it is mighty spiffy.

fireflyscout, just wait for us to start a Gucci Sukey thread Just kidding. That was the fake bag I ended up getting from Bluefly. As soon as I pulled it out of the packaging, I smelled a rat, or, should I say, a strange chemical stench. I’m nowhere close to being a designer bag expert, so I went to Nordstrom and examined the real thing, and some details of the Bluefly bag just did not look right. So back to Bluefly it went. I searched the web and came upon a loooong thread in another forum which confirmed my suspicions. Apparently, many people got a knockoff bag from the same lot that Bluefly ended up quietly pulling off of their site following the flood of complaints… I have had many good shopping experiences with Bluefly, and I do not think that Bluefly intentionally was peddling cheap knockoffs as the real deal - “switches” could happen anywhere, even at Nordstrom and NM. For instance, just yesterday there was something on the evening news about a guy suing Walmart - the guy claims that he ordered an iPad from their website and got a fake one (most likely, someone returned a fake one, and Walmart resold it without doing any QC).

Can’t get that Tree of Life Longchamp out of my head now!

No Longchamp Tote here (yet) but have a purse I purchased seven years ago and adore. It is a beautiful ivory color and I keep it socked away in it’s protective covering until I wear it – usually in the spring or summer. There’s just nothing quite like this brand’s clean, gorgeous styling. Will start looking at the totes . . .

I finally gave in to temptation and bought the large tote for DD. She wanted it for graduation, but I sent it early as a little surprise. I never would have heard about these without CC. You guys are great…but expensive!
