<p>We might actually have to turn something down. You can’t have more scholarships than you do costs can you?</p>
<p>Unless your scholarships are very specific you can be awarded over your costs. I would think this would be true especially the freshman year, since many one time only scholarships are given. Your college would give you the overage, but the one thing you must do is pay taxes on any amount over the cost of tuition. Then the money could go in the bank to possibly pay for shortages in other years. I also don’t think fafsa counts money in the bank that are scholarships and financial aid.</p>

<p>Maybe you should email to ask if your materials have been received, and if you still haven’t heard anything or had a status change by the 30th, FAX in copies just to be safe. Good luck!</p>
<p>I just called them today and they said you will get a letter whether you are selected for semifinalist or not. Has anyone from northern California (San Francisco bay area) heard any Semifinalist news?</p>

<p>We mailed ours on Saturday the 26th. It just now changed to semi process started. (It had not changed earlier today.) I’m sure they got a ton of mail last week. Keep checking and don’t fret too much!</p>

<p>Actually, I emailed them and asked if they had received my materials (this was before my status page had changed). They said that they had and that it usually takes 7-10 business days after receipt of materials before status pages would change. They may still be processing your materials, mahavir.</p>
