LUMS Fall 2020 Admissions (Mega-Thread)

@eesh1301 lums has a rolling admission policy. we’ll start hearing admission decisions from 22 april

my SAT score was 1290 @fusedbulb

@eesh1301 i think they’re gonna start by 22nd April but not all come out then… it’s like in batches or something

Yall I’m probably the only non O/A level student on this thread and my creds are 1280 sat 1, 96% matric and 83% fsc part 2. What do yall think do I have a chance to get into mghss? Not the econ stream

Also like I have a very stellar personal statement and achievements/extra curric, tons of international awards, intercontinental internships, presidential medal, close to 200 hours of comm service etc and medals and recognition

Have you ppl submitted your ibcc equivalence certificates as well? Am worried i didn’t but so did none of my class fellows

ehh it kinda makes me insecure that i dont have a really good personal statement + barely any extra curricular acts xD

I am actually from FSC too. in my second year atm kek

@lordzeno your credentials are amazing. You would easily get in those fields.

As long as your olevels/matric grades and sat scores are decent you don’t have to worry about personal statement but only if your marks are pretty good to overcome that.

phew i guess im safe ;-;

thanks man, thats a relief. best of luck to us all and may we all get in!

ameen to that brøther

@alihaaa1122 what would you classify as grades good enough to overcome a normal ps

also no we didnt have to submit our equivalence yet it wasnt in the final docs checklist

Those who are appearing for the sse entry test. Pls tell me how are you preparing for it?

im using sat2 books and just revising my a levels syllabus

@shafay7 well it would be a mix of A’s and A* and 1 or 2 B’s won’t hurt. Bcuz considering last year’s acceptances olevels mattered the most then sat but there were also variations like a sat score above 1300 puts you on a safer side if your olevel grades are not that good

does anyone have an idea whether sse test is basic or hard losing my mind here ;-;

But tbh from last couple of years there acceptance policy has pretty much screwed up. A person with sat less than 1150 got admission in sdsb while someone with great credentials and 1500 sat was rejected. In such a case they can argue about personal statement or extra curricular not being strong enough or maybe it’s just their screwed up system. LUCK MATTERS

@Az3EmX no idea
