honestly same like im so nervy!!
Don’t be worried- the SSAT is a small part of the application. it’s moreso something to check off the list, just to show that you are reasonably smart. An 85 is no problem.
Do the student ambassadors that give tours to prospective students and their parents report back to the admissions officers? Do parent ambassadors of school also loop in admission officers if prospective families reach out to them for questions, etc.?
I am also wondering whether student led tours report to AOs
Like what others said, I don’t think you should be worried. SSAT is one of the MANY factors they look at! And if it makes you feel better, I had scores in the mid-high 70’s and still got accepted/wait listed at some of those “tippy-top” schools :).
In the current moment, many schools are test opt as well and it doesnt really matter in those specific schools. Only the big shots require standardized testing tbh.
1/3 of the wait is over!
Lol have you guys told any of your friends abt applying?
I don’t think I would be able to hold it from my friends for this long lol
Yes… I’m beginning to regret it because they’re all acting like I already got in
If I get rejected everywhere, I’m gonna get absolutely grilled. It’s stressing me out.
Hahaha no💀 i told them like a year ago when i first decided but then they were like SO upset bc they automatically thought i was just leaving like it’s okay guys i still need to apply and see if i get accepted or not AHAHA😭 but lowk they keep asking if im going and I’m just like “oh ahaha idk probably not tho” bc we’re already losing 2 from our friend group (they’re moving) and we’re all grieving so i feel bad if i say i am applying and possibly might leave😭and anyway they’re gonna make a huge fuss about it hahaha but i lowk wish I told them earlier😪
same with me lol
My Hotchkiss interview was super dry, I didn’t really connect with my interviewer
For me I would say
- Andover/SPS (excellent)
- Exeter (good–but first interview)
- Choate (okay/good)
- Hotchkiss (really bad)
i had to tell a couple because a teacher was asking for rec letter details in front of them but otherwise secret secrety
Loomis has a nice campus with a straightforward layout, with the library and the gym being very close to the dorms/quad. Its proximity to the town of Windsor and the train station (both are within walking distance from your dorm) makes the school very attractive to a lot of students and their families.
I thought I was the only one-- my Hotchkiss interviewer didn’t seem that interested in what I was saying, they just typed everything I said down
Thank youu! Do you have any thoughts about the environment/community at Loomis?
I have visited Loomis multiple times and really liked the warm atmosphere and friendly vibe on campus. With ongoing capital campaigns and investments, the school has become quite popular the past few years. Good luck!
Hello, thank you so much for your reply!! My interviewer was lovely and I am glad to hear campus has a positive vibe! Hoping for the best on M10!
We were talking about books and non-me related stuff for most of it. I asked her for her favorite book genre, because I didn’t want to ask about her favorite book in case I didn’t recognize it, and she started telling me how much she hated that question and that’s what we talked about for the whole interview
