good luck, I’m sure that you have nothing (Maybe a little bit) to worry about.
I’m sending an email to all of my interviewers. (Kinda desperate ngl)
Yeah, I get it.
Are you just emailing like a “thank you” letter, or are you providing more information for your application? Just curious!
Wishing the best for you!
more information. I really wanted to make BS so I just did a lot of different things, but if they already have decisions made…![]()
Like a lot of different new things? Or are you talking about things in your application in general? Unfortunately not sure about whether they made decisions yet. Maybe it’s different per school, but I have no idea, sorry! ![]()
not new, but just like awards and other things like that. Not knowing about anything that goes on in the admissions office really scares me. Any time I think about it, I always get so nervous.
Oh, alright, that makes sense. Yeah, I understand that it can be really scary thinking about what’s going on in the admissions office. The fear of the unknown or just anything unknown is scary, but I recommend not worrying about it if you can. You seem like a very strong applicant who has a diverse set of extracurriculars, interests, and are genuinely very well-rounded. I wish the best for you on M10! ![]()
11th grade but I’d be open to reclass if need be
im applying for FA and I’m international (right across the border but still) so those are my biggest worries
Alright, just was curious! Around how many schools are you applying to? And how many are considered “matches” or “safeties” if you have them?
Around 12 I think? My safeties are all rolling so Lincoln Academy, Fryeburg, Foxcroft and if I can finally get the portal to work Hyde! Other than that all the other ones are low admit and would be amazing for wrestling escpecially Choate as they have one of the best girls prep teams in the US!
That’s a good number of schools! It’s great that you have a few safeties. I know 11th-grade admission is tough, but you seem to have a huge strength in character. You seem like an extremely great person, someone who admissions officers would want in their community. Which, in the end, is an extremely important factor in the admissions process, especially for boarding schools! ^-^
This is my first year of applying, with no prior knowledge, and with high expectations since people I know went to Hotchkiss, Andover, etc, so I foolishly thought that only Top 10 were good. Now I’m regretting my decision because you need to be the best to get accepted, and I would be fine to just attend a regular BS
I’m just looking at some other schools, but Oak Crest in Pomona only has 72 students, AND it’s a k-12??
It’s okay to make mistakes like that! Especially seeing people around you going to those schools! This admission process is tough, and not having prior knowledge is something you’re not alone in this process. Even if you don’t get in, you can still apply next year! But you are a very qualified applicant, so I would NOT be surprised if you get into a top school this year! Learning from your mistakes, especially in something like this, is a great thing! Many people also don’t know what they were doing at first, but they still made it through, and the fact that you made it this far is great! I tried to start an application late in the process, and I had NO idea what I was doing, so my candidate profile was HORRID and not at all who I was, and I left out the majority of who makes me, me. And I know seeing people around you go to these schools can invoke feelings of needing to also, but no matter if you do or not, I think you will do great things in life either way.
Hmm… What are the schools you are currently applying to this year? I know you have a list on your “chance me” thread but do you have any you added after or just didn’t mention? What are some important factors in a school you want and what interests do you want to be cultivated at your next school? Do you want a large, medium, small school, or no preference? Do you want only co-ed schools, or are you fine with attending a school that is not? Which regions do you want the school to be in, or no preference at all? There are many factors into choosing to apply to a school, I know that decision can be tough. But there are many great schools out there! ^v^
Thank you for the encouragement, and to answer your questions, It is just those 7 schools, I think I would want a smaller school generally because I never felt like I was in my school’s community, I’m fine with attending any co-ed or all boys, and no preference at all for the region.
Are you looking for schools with rolling admissions and/or still letting you apply? Or are you just planning schools to apply to in case you need to reapply in the future?
