I am getting a malware warning page when I access CC using the chrome browser.

I do not get it with Firefox. I hope it is a false positive… because here I am. Anybody else getting this warning?

I got one, too–from Firefox. But McAfee doesn’t seem to find anything wrong.

I’m getting a trojan warning from Kapersky

Got a warning from Firefox. Also something saying a threat was blocked.

Google Chrome gave me one too, but when I looked at the diagnostic, it found 0 threats.

I was also unable to post for over 24 hours so something was happening, and a few friends still can’t post.

I’m getting it from Firefox.

Also getting it here with chrome

I’m on my iPhone, and for quite a while I was being redirected to a site that looked like Twitter login page every time I tried to open CC. I smelled a rat!

I got twitter on my iPhone too.
I went to general settings and turned off access.

I got a bad virus this morning. I’m thinking it was from CC. When I log on now, I get a message that it’s classified as an “attack site.” I am still getting the 11:00 am time stamp, too, so this post will not show up in the correct order. I think I’m screwed.

I got something from Google Chrome too.

Firefox warning - now

Internet Explorer - ok

See http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/community-forum-issues/1396924-browser-warnings-cc.html

The site has been verified by our server folks as being clean, and we turned off ads (some of which come from outside CC) as a precaution.

The warnings may keep on coming for a while, though, as it’s not a real-time check. We have tried to expedite a Google verification, but don’t know how long that will take.

Sorry about the problem.

Thanks for looking into it. I too got that warning, from chrome. But here I am – which only shows just how much I (and others obviously) are CC additcts :)

If you google search CC and try to follow the link to this site, google won’t even let me through that route right now. It redirects me to a warning page instead and block me from proceeding.

This happened to me too. Closed all browsers and cleared history. So far Twitter login page hasn’t reappeared.

google’s bot can misidentify sites as malware. The CC report is completely clean. It may be as simple as the site was accessed from places where malware originates. It can, as someone may have noted, be caused by an ad server. It isn’t that an actual ad on your site is malware or may be malware but that the ad server has put out malware or suspected malware and so on. And there are guesses that google has changed something that is now causing more sites to be labeled incorrectly. I know of several sites that have been labeled for no reason. Makes me wonder if google is picking up some activity and classifying it wrong. Since this stuff is all automated, it’s hard to say.

I cleared all cookies, history etc. and the Twitter thing happened again. However, after waiting for 15-20 min, I was able to log in. Hmmm…

Firefox warning…cleared all history, unplugged battery, restarted and was able to get on once…then same warning. Currently accessing through Safari…and see post #14 it’s not me (whew)…well, guess I’ll have to find another activity for the time being…
