<p>I feel for these kids, all of them… they will have a rough road ahead emotionally. Patrick already made a clear statement by taking the Shriver name in his tweet, which I think shows his hurt and anger as well as strength. </p>
<p>Maybe it’s just me, but when I read the tweet that Patrick wrote it concerned me;</p>
<p>“Some days you feel like s—, some days you want to quit and just be normal for a bit, yet i love my family till death do us apart,” the 17-year-old wrote, adding the hashtag “family.”</p>
<p>the wanting to “quit” and “til death do us part” concerns me. I certainly hope these kids are being given the psychological support they may need to navigate through this as it is potentially so humiliating and painful, hard for adults but so much sharper for teens.</p>
<p>She was divorced in 2008. Reports are that tmz has a copy of the birth certificate listing her husband as the father (in my state the husband IS the legal father until paternity and then a court order changes that). The divorce decree lists no minor children from the marriage. She was a housekeeper/personal assistant.</p>
<p>She has 3 other children. Apparently they were not with her most recent husband. The husband and Arnold apparently found out when the boy was a toddler.</p>
<p>I have to wonder how this will affect A.S.'s planned return to ‘acting’. I’ve never been a fan but I’ve sat through a couple of his movies when they were on tv and my DH wanted to watch. His audience has always been mostly males of a certain youthful demographic; will they still want to see him? </p>
<p>Or will he and Mel Gibson join the ‘I’m a whack-job misogynist’ club.</p>
<p>I thought everyone, including Maria, knew of Arnold’s tomcatting habits for years, so I’m not sure I understand why a relationship 13 years ago would torpedo a marriage now. I suspect Maria has been done with him for ages and this disclosure was a handy opportunity to call it quits while riding a tide of public sympathy.</p>
<p>I think most of the reports on AS in the past were of groping, fondling, etc. that fell under the “boys will be boys” thing. There were rumors of a mistress or two, but there was no real solid evidence. This appears to be both undeniable and a feeling of broken trust with both parties. It is one thing to hear about a one-night stand from a long ago business trip and another to realize that it was under your family’s nose for 10+ years.
I just wish the Davis campaign had pursued this lead years ago when Arnold threatened to sue if this rumor was leaked.</p>
<p>The ex-husband must have gotten a huge pay-off to keep this quiet, because I cannot imagine him being willing to keep this quiet otherwise, when the biological father of the child his wife gave birth to was running for Governor of California.</p>
<p>Also, the timeline doesn’t add up as far as why this woman’s employment was terminated in January and Arnold told his wife in January. If the media had wind of this then and that’s why Arnold told Maria then, I doubt the media would have sat on it this long. Also, I doubt Maria and her children would have been OK with having Arnold join them for a Mother’s Day get-together if their children had known about all this then.</p>

<p>I see a big difference between having a relationship and fathering a child. Who knows what the real story is, but it’s not hard for me to imagine someone tolerating one and not the other.</p>
<p>seems the biggest betrayal is that he “shared” this secret with the other woman for years in the family home in the presence of Maria and the children. did they laugh together, wink wink pulling the wool over Maria’s eyes all those years. getting away with it day after day, was likely to be part of the thrill, to me a pretty cruel twist</p>
<p>My guess is that the torpedo was the fact the relationship was with a trusted employee, with trysts in the house, resulting in the birth of a child, ALL OF WHICH WAS KEPT A SECRET FOR OVER A DECADE. One thing to have an affair, another to have it under YOUR OWN ROOF, in a place where you are raising your children, with a trusted staff member with access to your family, all the while you are hiding the son/sibling’s paternity, perhaps while the child even makes visits to your home.</p>
<p>The women lives in a 4 bedroom home with a pool. My guess is the child support and perhaps the mortgage and other payouts were also torpedoes.</p>
How can he even have an acting comeback? He was not at the top of the Hollywood heap when he decided to pursue the governorship eight years ago, he’s too old to be an action hero nowadays, and he never had much discernible acting talent to begin with. Is he going to do a madcap romantic comedy (ick)? Play the devoted dad to a whole family of kids (ick again)?</p>
<p>Sylvester Stallone is still making movies (even a hot last summer with an Arnold cameo) and Bruce Willis is still doing stuff, so I think there will be those who pay for Arnold to carry a large gun and spout one-liners. It may have killed his environmental superstar political aspirations, though.
Feel awful for his family, and I hate to imagine the hell that the “love child” is about to go through.</p>
