Thanks! I have been following the progress ever since I sat next to a young lady at breakfast one morning in the Sierra Nevada at a family camp. She described herself as a Martian geologist. (University of Arizona) That made an impression on me.

I’m toying with the idea of taking astronomy classes at the local CUNY because they have a planetarium. Not quite brave enough, but getting closer! I love the shows about the planets and the universe on the HIstory and Science channels.

I don’t think pictures alone can definitively “prove” that Mars once had abundant water (I think soil samples are a better indicator), but the possibility is intriguing. I hope such speculation leads to continued funding for space exploration programs.

I’ve been a space exploration enthusiast since I was a child, and I greet every new discovery and theory with excitement.

If NASA ever needs volunteers to staff a Martian outpost, sign me up! I hate air travel, but I’d gladly make the nine and a half month trip for the opportunity to set my feet on Martian soil.

Thank you for posting the link, zoosermom. Thanks to Lafalum84 (creative!), TchaikovskyPiano (funny!), and owlice (breathtaking!) for your links, as well.
